Givi Luggage on FZ1S (Gen 2)
Posted by: Dallas - 08-05-13, 04:18 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

Hi all,

I'm new here and am about to collect a 2010  FZ1S but got a question on luggage.....

The bike has already got 2 x 35 givi side cases but I want to include a top box for more general use (Probably will only use the side cases for dedicated tours).

Thing is I want to pop on a Maxima 52 box BUT Givi recommend a max top box of 37L for the FZ1S - My question is does anyone run with a top box over 37L?

(TBH I'll probably go with a larger box but wondered if any known problems?)

Any help much appreciated.

  FZS 1000 - Any Interest?
Posted by: JoeRock - 08-05-13, 03:32 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (7)

Well due to an unexpected insurance issue (being 21, with a theft and a non-fault accident meaning that insurance was a lot higher than expected), I may have to sell my 2003 FZS 1000 in silver, in order to either pick up a cheaper FZS1000 with more miles/worse condition to save a few hundred quid so I can afford the insurance, or possibly even go for an entirely different bike (ones I've been thinking of at the moment are a CBR600F and a 2002 ZX6R (636cc))

So, is there anyone on here that's thinking of going for a FZS 1000 and wants to take mine off me?
Some details:
2003 model in silver, with just over 18k on the clock. Full service history and service book stamped up until the 16k service. Just had a set of Michelin Pilot Road 3's fitted about 1000 miles ago so obviously in very good nick, and the chain and sprockets are in good nick too. Both mechanically and cosmetically its in very, very good condition (checked the exup valve a couple weeks ago and it's fine).

Added extras that will be on the bike: Matching silver bellypan and hugger. Fender extender. Crash bungs. Radiator guard, and a scorpion exhaust (nice and fruity). Apart from that it'll be as standard (bar a Taurus immobiliser) - (I'll be keeping the givi luggage set for hopefully another Fazer!)
Not entirely sure what to ask for it, but similar bikes on ebay are going for about 3.2-3.5k (and up to about 4k for dealers).

It's really breaking my heart to sell it as I've really started to bond with it now the decent weathers come about, but I simply need to free up some cash somehow, and this is the only way I can think of to do it!

Any questions, or if anyone wants any pics, let me know and I'll get some uploaded!

Don't use the xbox much. Playing with it Sunday and the microsoft wireless wheel kept disconnecting.
Naturally thought batteries were dead but it kept doing it with new ones. Checked the old ones and they are good as well.
What could be the problem.
Poxy thing usually did it just as I was entering a corner at over a 100mph :lol

How many Watts availible for accessories?
Posted by: SteveMc278 - 08-05-13, 12:06 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Hi,

I’m trying to work out how much extra power in Watts I have available for electrical accessories on my Mk2 02-03 FZS600 running dipped headlights.
I got these figures from the owners manual that standard output is 14V,21A @ 5,000r/min and the standard battery is 12V, 10Ah.
I wouldn’t know how to total up the various things that use power during normal riding and don’t know the maths to get to my answer of how much Wattage I will have to spare.
Are there any takers out there for this question?  Smile

Cheers
