Leicester area to BoTW

I am planning on going on the Bourton on the water run. In previous years I have lead the way for those in Leicester and further up the M1 to Jacks hill Cafe from Leicester forest east services. Then heading from Jacks cafe to BoTW, and then from there heading back to Leicester up the Fosse Way or maybe this year through Banbury & Daventry. If you fancy this keep an eye on the Bourton on the water post in events.

WANTED: Fairing infill panel for FZS600

Evening all!!
Anyone got a left hand side infill panel in good nick to sell? The one on mine's buggered, nearly decapitated DeadEye a few rideouts ago when it nearly fell out on the M20, and left a beauty of a bruise on my knee when it actually parted company with the bike on the South Mimms mini meet (thanks again, Exup for going back to get it!) The problem with it is that the hole for the allen bolt has snapped, and there is a complete lack of trim clips on my bike. (NOTE: also after 4 of those, if someone has spares).
Many thanks!

Asda/ Tesco Petrol

Does anyone ever notice a difference with Asda or tesco's petrol?
Im convinced its not as good.
Ive noticed when using the supermarket petrol in the past my bikes have ran worse.
I noticed it the other day on the fazer. I was running low so i called into Asda for a fill up. The bike was running really smooth before i went in.
About half a mile down the road all of a sudden the bike seemed less responsive and a sudden buzzyness came through the handle bars, sort of like the buzz you usually get at 6000 rpm but throughout the rev range.
Ive had this happen on other bikes, they just seem to run roughly on it and seem more tempramental when starting smoothly on the choke in the morning.
Cars dont seem to pick up on this the same as ive never had a problem in the car.
Makes me wonder why its always cheaper.
Anyone ever notice this?

Stripped rear caliper bracket thread

Hey everyone,
Just refitting my rear brake caliper and one of the threads for the caliper bracket has stripped. I wasn't cross threading it and I Was hardly putting any force on it when it went (the haynes manual states they should be tightened to 40Nm but It wasn't at any more than about 10Nm when it stripped)so the alloy must have been pretty weak or at least it was on my bracket.
My question is, is this a common thread to strip/common weak point in the alloy? If not then there are plenty of second hand items on ebay. If it's a weak point then I'm not sure i'd trust a second hand one though.
I've tried retapping it with a slightly larger diameter thread size but to no avail. must just be too weak now.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi all
I just bought myself an FZS1000S which I'm loving to bits since the day I got it three weeks ago. It's standard condition and I'm looking forward to modding it with the right bits and pieces. The Foc u forum seems very friendly so it should be a good resource for advice.
A bit about me, I'm a smallholder in the west country and make a small living from fresh meat sales and a bit of veg. I'm married with 4 kids all grown up and flown the nest. Have been riding bikes all my life.

How do you remove the air box? Took the carbs out and removed the rubbers on the air box. I am removing the engine and want to know cause it is a mystery to me, it's just to long!
