X boxers - locksmith - 08-05-13 Don't use the xbox much. Playing with it Sunday and the microsoft wireless wheel kept disconnecting. Naturally thought batteries were dead but it kept doing it with new ones. Checked the old ones and they are good as well. What could be the problem. Poxy thing usually did it just as I was entering a corner at over a 100mph :lol Re: X boxers - Chillum - 09-05-13 interference? Perhaps someone put their microwave dinner on just as you rounded a corner ![]() Re: X boxers - Skippernick - 09-05-13 Not helpful I know, not had this problem. The only thing i can suggest is to reconnect the xbox and controller via the little button on the front of the controller ie when you first set it up. Try the rechargeable battery pack or use the wired connection and see if it's the controller or not. Maybe check the battery connections. Also try brand new out of blister pack Duracell's. The controller is a high drain device so a battery tester will not help so much as it will only apply a small load for a short period of time. Just ideas. Re: X boxers - Tiberius Onklevaart - 09-05-13 My pads have taken some abuse so maybe this won't apply to you but even the the pack looks snug in the back it might just be ever so slightly loose. Just try amd make sure its right in. Also, bit of meths on the contacts on pad and pack might help. Re: X boxers - locksmith - 09-05-13 It's a wireless wheel that takes 2 AA's with no cable option. The new batteries did it as well. Didn't physically unplug the xbox so should try that but it may be a while before I get the urge to play cars again ![]() Re: X boxers - simonm - 09-05-13 (09-05-13, 07:49 PM)locksmith link Wrote: It's a wireless wheel that takes 2 AA's with no cable option. Re: X boxers - Tiberius Onklevaart - 09-05-13 Shite hardware is always an option. Microsoft have previous. Alhtough my pads and machine have taken some real nonsense and are still going. The machine has been flippwd a few time, lost a few games as the laser likes to burn the disc when upside down, xbox remains The pads have been crushed, twisted, thrown, bounced, smashed and shouted at numerous times over the last 6 years. I've known folk who's machines died if you brought home the wrong make of teabags from the shop. Mines is 2nd gen as well, well before they started makin em reliable in any way. Re: X boxers - simonm - 09-05-13 He's got it for once. The Xbox itself was shite quality for a very long time. I recently picked up a jasper for 60 from blockbuster. So the heat and failure rate should be a lot lower. The rrod xbox I had seems to be reliable with the mods I did now. Re: X boxers - Chillum - 09-05-13 I still have my first gen ![]() Mind you, cleaning the shitty paste they used for the useless spring loaded heatsink was a real ball-ache - but it hasn't missed a beat since. Hardest thing was getting the bloody case open without the special tool - had to make my own! Whoever thought of that particular mechanism needs to be shot, along with the heat dissipation designer of course. There are many inherent design faults in the design of the V1 and V2 Xbox 360's due to motherboard flexing, incorrect solder used during mfr and the fans coming on after the damage is already done. I believe the Jaspers and Slims fixed most of the issues though. |
