scratches on visor and Matt lid
Posted by: simonm - 14-05-13, 06:31 PM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

There was an old topic on this (http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php?action=post...t_msg=3428) but I wondered if there was any new wisdom ?

I'm thinking plastic polish for the visor but I don't actually notice it that much as it's in my peripheral vision.

I'm just cheesed off cos it's only a few months old.

  Tortoises
Posted by: Streetbudgie - 14-05-13, 02:32 PM - Forum: General - Replies (20)

Anyone know anything about Tortoises?

When I was a kid you bought one, stuck it in the garden and fed it cucumber when it was hungry then found it at the end of September and put it in a box in the shed until you woke it up when Blue Peter told you to in the Spring.

I'm guessing it isn't like that any more as I've seen mention of UV lights and terrariums etc?

  Chain Replacement?
Posted by: Jezzer - 14-05-13, 01:23 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (13)

So I think I will have to replace the chain soon, not due to stiff links or anything rather rust.

Bit of history!
2002 with 6k miles, of which I have done 2.5k in the last 12 months.  Original chain / sprockets still fitted, did have chain surface rust when I got the bike last Feb, most of which I could scrub off.  Scott-oiler fitted and the bike is garaged normally.

I can and do clean / oil the chain up regularly (as well as the oiler) however, every time I go out in anything that is slightly damp or more, the chain just about instantly rusts.  The chain tensioner is about half way and no other issues that I can find with it, other than I almost sure I will have to change the front sprocket nut from the 9mm as well.

What do you think, keep or replace and if replace, any recommendations for a set?

  Cost to fit 2 tyres???
Posted by: noggythenog - 14-05-13, 12:26 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (29)

Just checking whats generally speaking a decent price to fit front& back tyres please???

Ive found the site below which gives a good spread of prices for a variety of tyres but if i go to some local fitters they'll no doubt give me the price including fitting so would be good to spot whether they're being a bit cheeky.

Cheers
