Owned fron new Black 2000/W Fazer 600 needs home.
Posted by: nitrofish - 22-05-13, 03:13 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (2)

Illness means I'm now not allowed to ride anymore. (Bugger). Thought I'd try FOC kindred spirits before heading off to Bike Trader. Here are the basics. Black 2000/W FZS600 with 28K miles. Owned since new with complete set of service history and bills.
Comes with 40litre Givi Top Box, crash bars, Datatag, new battery and nearly-new Bridgestone rear. Very solid, enjoyable and reliable bike. Cosmettically good, but not perfect (No garage so had to rely on a cover.) Looking for £1795. Includes 12 month MOT and Road Tax. Other goodies going begging include Oxford cover, heavy Squire chain and (unused) iBike 2 handsfree kit.
Based in North London but I'm afraid I can't deliver, as I can't ride now.
Just getting it back from garage so can send you some photos if you're interested. Home someone can give her a home!
Cheers
Nitrofish

not a counterpoint to the recent, pretty disgraceful, dumb bint who tweeted knocking a cyclist off - but i got ranted at by a cyclist on my trip home out of London yesterday - at Aldgate; the lights were red and I slowly filtered my way to the front - various routes so to speak but finished on the left, between the kerb and the lead car (not a cycle lane), and stopped short of the 'cycle-box' at the front of the line of traffic. Waited half a minute or so until I heard behind me:
"can you move forward mate?" a cyclist had filtered up behind me and wanted in to the cycle-box
"no, sorry" i replied "but i'm not allowed in there" i pointed at the cycle-box.
"you've got mirrors haven't you?"
"yes, why?"
"well, you can see I want to get past, can't you? - i'm supposed to be allowed in to the cycle area"
"allowed? you don't have right of way, the lights are red, i cant move forward and you'll just have to wait like the rest of us"
"but you've got mirrors! why don't you use them??"
"I am, and I can see you behind me - having to wait"
he followed up with a stream of abuse which continued after the lights went green all the way up to my turning right on to the A13.

here's a confession: I cycle. I used to cycle a lot in town when i lived near Waterloo and I don't ever recall hurling abuse at someone for getting to the lights first. He didn't have right of way did he? I didn't cut him up filtering on the left i just got there first - wouldn't he have complained more if i went in to the cycle-box? it's a possible 3 points isn't it??

Is it just me?

Forum down email notification address ?
Posted by: simonm - 22-05-13, 12:38 PM - Forum: Your Suggestions and How you can help - Replies (10)

If the forum goes down (as it did the other day) it might be handy to have a 'support' alias/email/web address that can be found using google search so that foc'cers can let you (or the hosters) know if it's all gone a bit pearshaped so you can let your hosting provider know.

Obviously a @foc-u.co.uk may not work in the event of a DNS error like yesterday so ...?
If you don't want to know, that's fine.  Just a suggestion  :lol

Yes I know you may not be interested on a Friday night whilst supping on a tasty beverage but you don't have to look at the email or you could filter it, bounce it, forward it or whatever.

  Any RAF types on here?
Posted by: fireblake - 22-05-13, 11:00 AM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

Hiya guys, I'm on holiday in the Lake District and keep seeing a couple of single engined planes over Coniston way and the Hard knott area and was just wondering what type of plane they are? They look like WW2 fighter planes and have RAF roundels on but aren't painted camouflage.
They look and sound fantastic. Do the RAF use this type of plane for training purposes, maybe the next one up from the basic starter plane before they go onto jets?

Cheers,  Mickey

Why is it when I want to find something there seems to be a complete absence of said thing, for eg I am looking for stainless steel M10 fine threaded ( 1.25 ) stud bar. Can I find it? not in this world ,I can have tons of steel M10 fine threaded oh and any amount of stainless M10 1.5 threaded but stainless M10 fine - rocking horse shit on a bed of hens teeth is the best way to describe it, and Im also scouring the web for an ally polisher in the Chester/Birkenhead area, yellow pages and Thompson Directory are no help either, could anyone please help with either of these problems and help to stop an old man having a nervous breakdown, cheers Steve. gibber gibber gibber gibber gibber
