My children have grown up and its taking up room in Garage. New owner collects from Hale Village (near Liverpool Airport)

  Givi kits
Posted by: ajmes1 - 09-07-13, 07:51 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (9)

This has probably already been covered but searching hasn't revealed anything...

I have a givi monolock rack fitted to my fzs600, the question is could a wingrack be adjusted to use the fitting kit for the top box case?

Or is there an alternative such as a pannier only kit? I've got soft luggage already but wanted to look at the hard luggage option for extra security etc when we go touring at the end of this year

Also, what's the practicality of a wingrack fully loaded with a pillion? I've heard mixed thoughts. It would need to be relatively comfy to take the mrs 2000 miles (I've already told her we can't get an intercom.......!!!)

  Engine-water temperature sensor threads??
Posted by: mars696 - 09-07-13, 02:29 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

Hi focs!
After buying and installing a new gauge with temperature bar gauge,i try to connect it with the engine temperature sensor, at the thermostat(the one with only one plug),but i dont get any readings.
As i check the manual,it refers to it like a "switch",so i think, that it only trigger the warning led ,under certain temperature.Correct if i am wrong. :rolleyes
So i am looking for a proper water sensor and i would like to know what the sensors threads are? Big Grin
Anybody??
Thanks!!!

I'm a track day virgin, and looking to do one this summer. Just bought full zip together 2 piece leathers for the occasion.
Are there any do's and dont's, needs and requirements that you guys have experienced that's not in the track small print?

  fazer 1000 ( 2001 ) gearbox fault - Please HELP
Posted by: fazerderek - 08-07-13, 06:23 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

I have a 2001 fazer 1000 with 44k on the clock

It developed a clattering noise that stopped upon selecting a gear

I have removed complete clutch assembly back to the oil pump chain and found the gearbox input shaft has about 1/8th of a turn free play

I have been told this is the fault but without removing anymore i was hoping someone might know what is wrong to cause this fault

Can anyone help in my plight to fix my bike - Thanks in advance    .    Fazerderek.
