Hello all a recent gen 2 FZ1S owner here from the Bristol area

Been into sports bikes for a while but I have come to realise its only a mater of time before I waved goodbye to my license or find myself on fire wrapped around a tree in a ditch so I decided to take my biking in a different direction! goodbye knee sliders hello panniers!

I have to say I am impressed with the little Fazer so far  Big Grin , except the rear shock!! how they could ever promote it as a "sports tourer" with a mattress for a shock I don't know... Time to get saving for a shiny replacement me thinks!

I plan to get out on it more than its replacement and hopefully go a bit further afield than the usual haunts in south Wales.

A quick hello and a query regarding engine running after fitting ivans jet kit!!
Posted by: yamaman - 09-07-13, 11:46 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

Hi all,
just finished fitting a full monty kit to my gen 1 and am made up with results!  Just 1 quick query though, it is now not returning to idle quite as quick as before from approx 3-4 thousand rpm i.e a little loss of engine braking.  Any ideas or is this quite normal??

evening folks, just testing the water.......we all know how dear decals can be. well thanks to my new toy i am now able, amongst other things to produce the attached decals for the princely sum of £1.00 each plus p.p ( £2.60 a pair delivered ) cheapest i`ve seen on fraudbay is £4.00 and they are smaller !!. mine are 200mm x 40mm in black, white or silver (for now ) just need to gauge interest on this `ere forum as they have gone down well on other forums (not fazers obviously )"> i frequent...yes,bikes :rolleyes . payment will be through paypal if any and delivery approx 7 days. hope this is of benefit. please give me your suggestions too ( polite ones please :lol :lol :lol ) cheers all. Ade

  Adjusting rear brakes
Posted by: Rikki - 09-07-13, 09:08 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Greetings all,

When I got my Fazer MOT'd a few weeks ago it was recommended I adjust the back brake as the lever pushes down quite a way before it engages.

Just been looking at it today & can't suss out how to undo the nut that's inside the stirrup thing (not sure what the correct noun is!) so I can move it toward the end of the thread. There's no way a spanner will fit in there, so how do my fellow foccers solve this little conundrum?

Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative to Yamaha's headstock bearing wrench? 9089001403
Seems a bit dear for what it is.

  Quick help needed
Posted by: BIG MAC - 09-07-13, 08:18 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

FZS600 Air box to carb rubbers (not the cylinder to carb) They are marked 1s and 2s however I can't figure if there's a discernible reason why ..or which goes where. It is proving a ball ache to line up though. Also if some kind soul could check to see if the 'ridges' which run along the rubbers go top and bottom or horizontally this would also help.
Thanks
