Hi all,
i'm new to the forum. Had my 1999 Fazer 600 for 4 yrs now. I gave it a service yesterday, plugs, air filter and new oil and filter. took it out today and it aint running right at all. Under hard acceleration it is losing power then as you roll off the throttle it seems to pick up again. I'm thinking it could be the park plugs but thought i'd stick a post on here for some much needed advice as going on a tour of Scotland next month.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

As the bike's due for it's MOT, I thought I'd get the Zeus Motorcycles to do a bit of servicing work at the same time, to save me wasting the decent weather.
Their response was "why do you want to change the fork oil if the seals aren't blown", and "we don't do carb balancing" I didn't even bother to mention the EXUP valve, I doubt they'd even know what it was!
So, having given up on them I thought I'd try my nearest Yam dealer, Woodford Motorcycles. Their response was "we don't like working on bikes more than about 5 years old, try somewhere else".
Now, maybe it's just my imagination, but I thought firms wanted business in a recession, but it would seem these don't!
Checked the bike over to take it for it's MOT yesterday and found an indicator not working. Not to worry, I bought spares when HG went into adminidstration last year.... except I've put them somewhere safe, so I'll never see them again! Spent yesterday sorting the wiring out and it's all working again, so MOT next week instead, and I'll get myself a Carbtune and do the other work myself.
The final issue came today, when I noticed the front tyre didn't look quite right. On closed inspection, there's a definite ridge developing just off the centre line. I've read that this has happened with Avons in the past, but these are Bridgestone BT023s.
So, finally, the questions: does anyone know of a trustworthy dealership/workshop in the Leyton/Walthamstow/Woodford area of London, and has anyone had a ridge develop on Bridgestone tyres before?

It cannot be true :look :
AbstractThe aim of the present study was to evaluate the relationship between motorcycling and erectile dysfunction (ED). We investigated the relationship between motorcycling and erectile function using the 5-items version of the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF5) in 234 motorcyclists (response rate 75%) and 752 healthy controls (response rate 66%). In all, 161 (69%) of 234 motorcyclists were diagnosed as ED based on IIEF5. The prevalence of ED in the motorcycle group increased by age as: 58, 63, 76 and 93%, for motorcyclists in 20-29, 30-39, 40-49 and 50-59 years, respectively. There was a significant difference in the prevalence of ED between the motorcycle group and the control group in all age groups. On stepwise logistic regression analysis, motorcycling was the strongest risk factor for ED. Although the severity of ED in motorcyclists was not so severe, motorcycling may be one of risk factors for ED.
AbstractRecently, the association between motorcycling and erectile dysfunction (ED) has been reported. Also, lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) were reported to be associated with ED. The aim of this study is to evaluate the association of ED with LUTS in motorcyclists. We investigated the prevalence and the status of ED using a 5-item version of the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) in 150 motorcyclists. ED was diagnosed when the IIEF-5 score was less than 17. The International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) was also applied, and the relationship between IIEF-5 and IPSS was evaluated. Of the 150 motorcyclists, 37 (25%) had ED, and 31 (21%) had moderate or severe symptoms of LUTS (IPSS >or=8). The IIEF-5 was significantly associated with the severity of IPSS (P=0.002) and age (P<0.0001). The IIEF-5 was also significantly associated with the scores of both voiding (P<0.0001) and storage symptoms (P=0.001). On stepwise logistic regression analysis, age and storage symptoms are independent risk factors for ED in motorcyclists. LUTS seemed to be associated with ED in motorcyclists.

I went out for a run on the bike yesterday. Perfect conditions. Dry, not to warm, not to bright and fairly quiet. It was my first proper run since surgery in March, so I decided not to get carried away with myself.
Anyway, about 100 miles from home and I am coming along a straight section at a reasonable pace. Ahead I see some traffic. A car, then two bikes, then another two cars. They are about 1/2 a mile away. The bikes decide to overtake the car at the front. No problem I thought. They did this without incident and in roughly half the distance. Then the Fiesta behind them decides he is going to overtake too :eek .
Even a performance car would have found it tight. So I am on the brakes and the horn as this guy proceeds to batter along my side of the road, side by side with the car he was trying to overtake. There was about 1 meter of unused tarmac to the left hand side which I had to aim for as both cars passed me. Fortunately I kept my cool and go past. I stopped to see the overtaking car complete his manoeuvre about 15 seconds later. The bikes that overtook must have seen in their mirrors what was unfolding and came to a stop, so thanks for that guys.
I did not get the reg number or any details of the car on account of my life flashing before my eyes and trying to get the bike through the tiny gap, but I do hope that one of the other drivers involved will have the good sense to see that that guy could have killed me and report it to the police.
Other than that it was a great day out.

Hello everyone.
Traded my Honda Deauville in for a 2012 model today. Got an incredible deal with 0% finance. Obviously they wanted to shift the 2012 model as quickly as possible.
It was a toss up between a VFR 800 or a Fazer 800. The deal at he Yamaha dealer in thecnd as the clincher but also he VFR seemed a little heavy an overly complicated.
Should pick it up on Tuesday . First ever Yamaha. Also own a 2009 CBF 600SA.
So good to be here. Anything to watch out for with the 800?
