Headstock bearing wrench - His Dudeness - 09-07-13 Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative to Yamaha's headstock bearing wrench? 9089001403 Seems a bit dear for what it is. Re: Headstock bearing wrench - Ruby Racing - 10-07-13 There's a guy on eBay who sells these. Got one for my Suzuki a couple of years ago. His user name name might be something like old school suzuki, but just do a search for a headstock tool and I'm sure you'll find him. Re: Headstock bearing wrench - His Dudeness - 10-07-13 I had a look there ruby and I spotted this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161063734501?redirect=mobile It says it does a 40mm nut. Could someone please measure their steering stem nut? I won't get a chance to check mine for at least a week ![]() Re: Headstock bearing wrench - Punkstig - 10-07-13 Screwdriver and hammer has always worked for me, although obviously you can't buy adjustable torque hammers! This is what it looks like and only 8 quid more. Means you can torque it up properly. Drop him a message and ask if he does one for the Fazer. If not he will probably make you one for FREE if you send him the nut. That's how I got mine for my Daytona 675. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-FZ6R-Steering-Stem-Nut-Socket-/111039505447?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item19da786427 Re: Headstock bearing wrench - His Dudeness - 11-07-13 (11-07-13, 08:47 AM)limax2 link Wrote: [quote author=His Dudeness link=topic=8752.msg86922#msg86922 date=1373479805]It is 40mm dia. Thanks for checking limax ![]() Re: Headstock bearing wrench - His Dudeness - 11-07-13 The socket style one is probably handier but there is a slot in the back of the one I stuck up for a 1/2" wrench so you use it with a torque wrench too. Looks similar to the yamaha one in the part number Re: Headstock bearing wrench - unfazed - 11-07-13 I cut down an old Hagon rear shock C spanner and cut a square holein it to fit the 3/8 drive. Works great. ![]() |
