cooling fan doesnt seem to kick in
Posted by: clayt74 - 12-07-13, 03:22 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (14)

With all this hot weather I would have expected my fan to kick in occasionally at lights or something?
The fan isn't seized and my coolant levels are fine, but after a good run and then stopping at lights for a few mins I can smell the heat of the engine( if that makes sense) but still the fan never kicks in, even when I get home then leave it ticking over for 5-10 mins.
I know the fazer fan is known to be rare to kick in but was wondering what other people ate experiencing before I dive in to test the fan and switch.
Cheers people.

When I used to hover over a post, a little pop up appeared with the first few lines of that post.
This has stopped now, how do I get it back?

Just been sent this link, I think from Russia.

Watch out for the biker toward the end, a damn fine advert for wearing the correct protective gear!!!

  FZS 600 Rear Sprocket
Posted by: JoeRock - 12-07-13, 11:27 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (12)

Is it the same as any other bikes? I want a red supersprox sprocket for it, which I'm going to have to order directly from the manufacturer, but they don't list a red one for the FZS - hoping to find another bike which shares the same sprocket so I can order one that does come in red, and will fit!

how much are the kits ?
is it easy to do ?
an idiots guide would be helpful too  Wink

  Replacing Chain
Posted by: Dead Eye - 12-07-13, 09:54 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (29)

Hi all, trying to replace the chain and I've hit a snag whereby the chain tool I bought is a load of crap... I can't get the pins to line up properly on the rivets to break the chain as they just slip when you apply any sort of pressure

Does anyone around the Chelmsford / Essex area happen to have a grinder / cutter / bolt breakers (or something) that I could borrow in exchange for beer tokens - need to get this work done ASAP to get the bike back in for an MOT retest without incurring further charges Sad

  hearing
Posted by: simonm - 12-07-13, 09:26 AM - Forum: General - Replies (21)

To protect my hearing I've been wearing ear plugs since I started riding.  I have found however that I'm unsure they're doing their job.  Yes they reduce the noise level but it still becomes reasonably loud white noise that I can hear for a long period after getting off the bike.

So I'm toying with the idea of headphones and low music.  Yes I know plenty of you don't wear ear plugs and plenty of you hate the idea of music, if so this isn't the topic for you.

My query is this: does anyone know if the varying pitch of music is more likely to reduce tinnitus than white noise ?

I got these brand new and have never used them, I have hard luggage for my Fazer, they do extend so will take a fair bit of kit. £40.

Anyone seen much about this?  It's been approved by local councils, lets hope it goes ahead Smile
