Plastic reservoir with a cap behind rear shock (2001 Fazer 600)
Posted by: vladman - 16-07-13, 02:41 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (12)

Hi, I was poking around the bike and for the first time (in 6-7 years ownership) noticed this!  :rolleyes

I have no idea what it's for.  It's NOT the rear brake fluid reservoir (I know where that is).  Can anyone advise on what it is?  I can't see the level in it (it's got the usual max and low markers), it's quite dirty, but I think it's low, or even empty.  Wouldn't be surprised, as I've had the bike for a long time, and never even knew this thing was there!

I can post a pic if my description is not clear.

Thanks!

Went out with a mate to Devils bridge then over to the St Anne's bike meet in Blackpool.. Saw a fair few Fazers over there, any foccers about?

For my second ride out on the Fazer I'd say I didn't do too bad..

Upgrade: 6 blade ali radiator replacement fan
Posted by: b1k3rdude - 16-07-13, 01:32 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

Just found this on ebay by accident and thinking of getting it, due to the scorchio temperatures in the UK atm.

The stock fan is fine, and could be considered a bit noisy. As well as shifting more air, I wonder will it be quieter..

Thoughts, comments...

  Slight Backfire
Posted by: hightower - 16-07-13, 11:48 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

Since I carried out a service on the bike, it seems to me that I can hear a slight backfire when letting off the throttle. It also sounds louder since then, more gargly. I'm not sure whether it's me being paranoid or what.

On the service I changed coolant, plugs, and put a nice shiny K&N air filter on it. I have yet to do oil & filter.

Does this sound possible, or am I making things up? Maybe the service and me noticing these was a coincidence? Any help?

Ordered some of these the other week  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300685207665?s...1439.l2649
they arrived within around 10 days and the handles seem very good for the money.
BUT.............Be aware if ordering I have been invoiced £20.65 by TNT for import tax
it does state very clearly on e-bay regarding import tax just wasn't expecting quite so much
still a Bargain though

I don't know whats going on but the sun is sure getting the bikes on the road, maybe the bikers who don't ride much or the ones who watched the MOTO GP. not good news at all,
Luckily i have not read of any in Wales which is where there are usually some fatalities.

  Error code 43
Posted by: Ablackrose1989 - 16-07-13, 01:24 AM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (7)

Hello all,

I have had a browse around and I have not seen a topic with the same issue so thought I would list a new topic.

Right so the basics, I have a:
Fz6 s2 fazer
58 plate
11k miles (only bought this with 5k on clock in Dec Tongue)

I have been noticing the error code 43 (not reading battery voltage) coming up when turning the ignition on this is an intermittent fault. I have the feeling it is the fuel relay box that may have water corrosion (not unsealed it so not 100% sure)I have tried the diagnostics check 50 (if I remember correctly) and this shows to be @ 0.0.
I have also checked all the terminals and they appear to be fine(connections wise along with external.
Symptoms:
-When putting the bike ignition on, the fuels pump starts but it doesn’t turn off unless the error code 43 turns off and so the engine warning light. The bike itself runs fine and no drop in power, after riding a -while or leaving the ignition on the warning light eventually disappears and so the fuel pump stops consistently running.

Well hope you can all shed a bit of light on this I will be trying a new battery off a friend’s fazer to see if It is a battery fault but any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers guys and gals
