gen 1 front forks for sale
Posted by: bluethou - 20-08-13, 11:37 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - No Replies

Hi.
I had the pesky leaking right leg problem.
So I bought a refurbished front end.
This has left me with my a set of forks with one having a scored stanchion that leaks.
im guessing it was caused by a worn bush.
The left fork is in perfect working order with no marks or pitting anywhere.
They come with a genuine set of new oil seals.
All the adjusters work fine.
£90. Plus £15 post or collect from workington Cumbria.

Hi all!

I am looking to make a comeback to Fazer ownership after my beautiful Fazer met a rather sticky demise last October Sad

I am going to be in the market for a Fazer in the £1000- £1500 possibly £1700 margin. What would this money fetch Fazer wise? my last one ended up costing the best part of 2.5k after finance interest etc was factored in, but that was absolutely mint with 15k on the clock? i am assuming I wont fetch such a bike in this price range?

Cheers,

ben

  Which conti tyre?
Posted by: mickvp - 19-08-13, 11:14 PM - Forum: General - Replies (14)

So my bikes going to be due tyres soon as its still on the tyres it came with when I bought it, it has a Pirelli Diablo Rossi 2 on the rear, and a Dunlop sport tyre on the front. As I don't know the age or mileage on each tyre I want to change the pair and get a matched set (a bit OCD that way).

I've ridden a bike with continentals on it and really liked them (I think it was road attacks), but while looking there I noticed there are two different conti tyres:

Road attack, and sport attack. I've a feeling that road attack will offer everything I need, but what's the differences between the two, anyone any idea? (I assume sport attack is more track focused, more grippy but less life? That's purely supposition though).

Thanks for any help Smile

Mick.

  gen 1 best fuel
Posted by: nick crisp - 19-08-13, 10:57 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (35)

I recently read that the gen 1 will run better on a low octane pump fuel (say 89-91) rather than 92-95. Wondered what others are filling up with and why?

And the bottoms of the forks have suffered oxidisation (does not affect function though - fork stanchions nice shiny chrome and seals working perfectly).

Tyre/Chain/Sprocket Condition: Sprockets and chain brand new, good tread left on both tyres

Extras: Stainless steel exhaust headers, Viper end can, fender extender, radiator guard, spare key, both books, Haynes manual, full tank of petrol!

I've spent more on this than I can ever expect to get back but that wasn't the point. I wanted something fun to do whilst I was injured and couldn't ride. I just want a fair price for a totally sorted bike.

I will post 12 pictures below...

  FZS1000 MICRON RACE CANS X3
Posted by: shrekster - 19-08-13, 09:46 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (6)

Having a clearout, I have 3 Micron end cans for sale. The 2 carbon cans are race only and the chrome can comes with a removable baffle. I only have 2 link pipes, the 3rd one in the pics doesn't fit, they come with a securing band. All are in pretty good nick although the chrome can has a small dink in it. The link pipes on the carbon cans also fit the chrome one.
Collection preferred but i will post if wanted although it'll be about £12.
Can on it's own £50 or £70 with link pipe plus post.

Jim.
