2001 FZS600 for sale - very nice condition with lots of extras .
Posted by: davec - 05-09-13, 09:22 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (11)

I'm selling my FZS600 only because I want a bigger bike. It's a black 2001 bike with 16500 miles on the clock which I have owned for 3 years.
This is what it has:
Hel braided brake lines.
Renthal Ultra low bars.
TCP belly pan.
Rear hugger.
Ermax undertray.
FZS1 rear brake caliper.
Carbon exhaust.
K&N air filter.
Iridium plugs.
mini indicators.
Datatool s4 alarm.
Uprated 12mm front sprocket nut.
25mm jack up kit.(improves handling)

I've recently changed the coolant, brake fluid and pads.Oil and filter changed annually. Carbs recently balanced.
It has service history up to 8000 miles when the previous owner to me bought it and did all of his own servicing as have I.
I did a fairing conversion to a Foxeye over the winter as a project. It's a proper conversion with all of the electrics done to the highest standard and working as it would do on the Foxeye.
The bike has 10 months MOT and 10 months tax.

The bike is in excellent mechanical condition and runs beautifully.

I have only ever used the bike in fair weather so it is very clean with a few age related marks,as you would expect - even the exhaust studs and nuts are in excellent condition and copper greased.

I'm looking for around £1850.
Here are some pictures:

Ok, foc PMs, here it is loud and clear.
Christo, go out with some mates and GET PISSED, have a laugh, wake up with a stonking hangover and do it all over again. If ever there was someone who needed it... :rolleyes

Anyone else agree?

Life can be hard (some days are better than others Pt. 2)
Posted by: Punkstig - 05-09-13, 07:51 PM - Forum: General - Replies (13)

So, yet another casting day in our offices, unfortunately it was for dogs (the 4 legged variety, not ugly women)

Then I'm given a job to Stratford upon Avon, I mean, come on, on a day like this?  Big Grin

Pull off the M40 at Banbury and take the A422, enjoy the road, ride past ChristoT's accident spot, make my delivery then head across Stratford to the A44 for Fish hill and the good ride home.

Basically I got paid to rerun last Sundays LoFo rideout!

Life really is hard!

  Hugger
Posted by: midden - 05-09-13, 02:39 PM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

Just fitted the hugger which came with the bike, just the scottoiler to do now.
Not sure I'm keen on the length of the chain guard, it's much shorter than the original and leaves quite a bit of the rear sprocket exposed. Is this a standard or just that i have a cheapy one.

Hope no foccers were caught up in this.

From the numerous other stories reporting cars driving without lights and at 'normal' speed, a timely reminder of the approaching winter and the need to drive/ride according to the conditions.

Stay safe out there people.

  Fuel Light
Posted by: goalieadam - 05-09-13, 11:47 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

Hi All,
New to the Fazer after 12 years off bikes and loving it!  Planning on giving it a good clean up once the cold weather starts coming in so I'm probably going to be firing in a few questions over the next few months!
This was all my own fault so I don't need that pointing out to me, but I'm riding home from work last night with the fuel needle on E.  I was a few miles away from the nearest garage but it's ok I though as the light hasn't come on yet so I have a few miles left in the tank.  I'm about two miles away and the bike cuts out on me but no fuel light came on.
I'm trying to work out what the issue might be, when I turn the ignition on the fuel light comes on so I know it works and the fuel gauge is working too.
Any ideas where to look?  Its obviously not something that is urgent for me to fix but now I know its not working its going to bug me!!

Thanks
Adam

Well, as i stated in a previous post, the bike needed to go to the Dyno man to have the new inlet rubbers fitted and the bike to be set up.
So, yesterday dinner, i took it over and a mate brought me back home, Dyno man phoned me this morning to let me know that number three cylinder has no compression at all, in fact he can feel it coming back through the airbox and the silencer, it's that bad.
His suggestion is either to remove the head and check for bent valve stems and if they are ok, then grind all the valves in.....or, put it back together and stick it on ebay, not a nice thing to do but somebody did it to me, so hey-ho!
So at the moment, i'm waiting for him to get back to me later on this evening, he has other bikes in that the owners obviously want sorting but if one of them isn't too much in a rush, then he can do mine sooner.
If not, then it could be a few months before he an get round to stripping the head off it.
Of course, if i had a garage, then i would strip it myself but i haven't, so i'll just have to wait and see what he says this evening.
I sometimes wonder if it's all worth the bother, unfortunately it is, after 40+ years of biking, it isn't something you can just give up on, is it?

G ; )

Fazer 600 to fazer 1000 conversion
Posted by: Triggergee - 05-09-13, 09:56 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (25)

Does anyone have experience converting a 600 to a 1000 using the fzs1000 engine amongst other things. I want to know how straight forward fitting the engine is as well as using r6 swing arm+ wheel and r1 forks+ wheel.......
