  Headlight Mod
Posted by: bbb - 08-09-13, 11:42 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

Did the headlight mod yesterday, very good write-up, bought the connectors from Autostar on ebay (cheap and next day delivery) included a waterproof connector that now sits behind the clocks in case of any MoT issues. Just need to adjust the beams (inner for vertical??) now.

Also ordered a 2.8mm female connector from autostar to replace the blue heatshrink part that should in theory enable me to use the blue connector under the tank.

Considering removing the metal cover over the dipped beam, has anyone had any issues at MoT time with the cover removed?

Cheers

  vm 29 semi flatside question
Posted by: nickodemon - 07-09-13, 10:38 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (21)

Being naughty as this has nothing to do with my fazer thou, but my gsxr 750 'slabside' I have recently replaced the starter, ultrasonically cleaned the carbs, replaced the float needle valves and the bike still leaks fuel if fuel tap left on. Next issue is if i leave fuel tap on it lets fuel into the combustion chamber if left overnight, which causes a hydraulic lock - this was the reason i got a new starter, as i thought it was knackered. funnily enough it was pretty goosed, as the fuel leak ran onto the starter and removed the internal grease Sad . Anyway does anyone know why it is letting fuel into combustion chamber? I know if i turn the fuel tap off i will have both issues sorted, but i owned this bike 8 years ago and never needed to turn tap off..

Ps... Fazer has been rebuilt after accident and has been in use for last few months Smile

  And so it begins..fce on a 2009
Posted by: ogri48 - 07-09-13, 09:44 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

Fitted the ivans fce to my fz1 today. Been reading up on it first,, lots of opinions, some say it improves a 2009 some say it makes no difference. I guess it depends how they ran beforehand. Mine had a definite prob, changing gear etc there was a lag then lurch whenever I throttled off then on, unless I was right up in the powerband. Same thing taking long corners, on off throttle was a right pain. Anyhoo, took me time and made a proper job of it, soldered the wires into the connectors as well as crimping them etc, then took it out for an hour. Huge improvement all round, and surprisingly, deffo a horsepower hike from about 4k rpm. I'll use it like this for a week in lots of different situations before I start the rest of the jobs( pc3, secondaries, airbox mod etc)make sure it's not my imagination, but so far it's definitely a winner. Smile

  Front sprockett question
Posted by: SueScott1 - 07-09-13, 09:17 PM - Forum: General - Replies (21)

Whilst out riding, the front sprocket securing nut came off and damaged the splines and threads. Has this problem happened to anybody else and how did you solve it please? Also, where is the best source for replacements parts?
Thanks, Sue
