R1 Calipers
Posted by: unfazed - 09-09-13, 07:44 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

Replaced my front Blue Spots with a set of 2003 R1 Gold Spots yesterday. Smile
First trip with them on today and strangely enough these give more feel than the Blue Spot did with the stainless brake lines. :eek
A direct replacement, only extra was 4 copper washers for the banjo bolts on the calipers. They even take the same brake pads. The longest part of the job was bleeding the brakes after fitting them.

  FZS 600 Query

There was only one red for the Foxeye wasn't there? After a bagster tank cover and I'm getting quite confused as to why there appears to be two different colours for the Foxeye on their site!

Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Nottingham (MIDLANDS) riders to MFN ?
Posted by: simonm - 09-09-13, 12:53 PM - Forum: Events, Meets, Ride outs etc - Replies (21)

I've recently been made aware of MFN (http://www.mfn-club.co.uk) in nottm

Anyone go to bike night there on a Wednesday and fancy a bimble/pootle or even a nip out ? (Others can hoon if they wish)

I'm thinkin more of a back road jaunt rather than motorways. I'm not too hot on rain tho so I'm conflicted since it doesn't look like a great forecast.

  Lube me up
Posted by: Timbollew - 09-09-13, 12:42 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (19)

Ok, so chain lube. I've been using Wurth Dry chain lube but I'm almost out. With the weather getting wetter I'm wondering if there's some better alternative that'll deal with the wet weather.

Ideally would fit a Scott oiler but can't afford one at the moment.

I adjusted my chain yesterday, I can't believe the difference, there was about 60mm of slack, gear changes are so much smoother!

Also I've seen this anti corrosion stuff you spray on after washing the bike, is it any good? any recommendations?

  LED Indicators
Posted by: hightower - 09-09-13, 11:48 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (12)

My front right indicator is playing up - sometimes it flashes normally, sometimes not. I've checked bulb etc and it doesn't seem to be loose, but have decided to use this to fit LED indicators anyway.

So I was thinking something like these for the front:

http://www.roarfactory.co.uk/yamaha-led-indicators

And this for the back:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clear-integrat...1e7b494d4b

Questions:

1) Will rear unit pass MOT, if original indicators are removed (ie are those LED type ok on their own)?
2) Will new LED brake lights (in link) pass MOT?
3) The first link includes (according to description) "Including blinker speed regulating resistor" - will this resistor be all that's needed for both front and back, or do I need a resistor for rear LEDs too?
