is there one and if not why not.
Perhaps a foccers speciality in the makingSmile

Just passed and bought a FZS600
Posted by: AndyL - 24-11-13, 06:54 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (4)

Hi,

I passed my big bike test earlier this month so after 4 years pottering around on a 125 I've bought something with a bit more poke. I did my test on a 650 bandit but felt better on the fazer with the test ride. It's a 2001 model but it looks to be in good condition.

I'll be on the lookout for hard luggage to add to this (currently I have a monolock box but would like to get a monokey set up)

  Best paint for headers.
Posted by: wezdavo - 24-11-13, 05:52 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (17)

I painted my headers last year with Hycote VHT but the finish was matt black which looked more like a dark grey, I have also tried Halfords brand with the same outcome..

What are you guys using?

Has anyone used Granville satin black cylinder paint on headers before?

I am after a satin black that can take the heat and doesn't turn grey!!

  Wanted FZ1
Posted by: lew600fazer - 24-11-13, 05:17 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (4)

Have posted this in the forsale/wanted section !!! but just in case it gets missed.
Okay I am looking for a low mileage  FZ1,  ABS is a must. It has to be a top bike. I will consider a naked bike but must have a centre stand. Send me a PM and I will send you my home e mail address. Sorry but being picky but if it has been hammered or dropped I will not be interested, colour is not an issue but preference would be BLACK or GREY but if you have a clean one contact me. Lew

  MT-5

Hi chaps, quick question for you. I don't really expect to get an answer to this but it's worth trying Big Grin
I have just bought a 1990 Honda MT-5 for my daughter when she turns 16 in February. What I am after is some information or advice about wheels/tyres. Does anyone happen to know if there is a road type tyre available in the fitments for this bike or are there any other wheels that are a swap so that road tyres can be used?
I have done a swift google search but not turned anything obvious up.
Tyre sizes are front: 2.70x19  rear: 3.00x16
Thanks in advance guys, Neil

  FAZER 600 1999 V FOR SALE LOOK!!
Posted by: davey1985 - 24-11-13, 12:36 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

Time has come to sell my trusty 99 fazer 600, i still have the fazer thou so not end of world!

I'm selling it to buy a van so would consider swaps.

So onto the bike: Its a black Fazer 600, covered 42k and runs really well. Starts first time every time. Has datatool veto evo alarm/immob, bike has been tastefully streetfightered but can easily be put back to standard if desired. All fairings are in one piece but have light scratches to be expected with age of bike.

I've given this bike a massive service over the past 3 months as havent been riding it. This includes: Rear caliper strip and overhaul (new seals, pads, banjo drain bolt and fluid), front caliper service and fluid change, coolant flush, two of exhaust header clamps were broke so i took the downpipes off, cleaned em, new copper gaskets and machined two clamps to fit (saves cutting and re-welding downpipes).

Also did the fork seals as one was looking iffy. New battery and fuel pump relay (the old relay failed and drained the battery which was old anyway).

Extras include:

Oxford Heated grips
Pyramid front streetfighter fairing and rear hugger
Bellypan
Twin headlight conversion
Rear seat cowl (these are worth £185 alone)
Datatool Veto evo alarm (two fobs)
Datatag
Some service history however i do most of the servicing myself. have most old MOT's & V5.
Carbon mini can, sounds great!
2 months tax remaining (£30 6 months)
Will have full test with sale.

Tires are good and have only done 3000 miles, same for chain and sprockets (new set 3000 miles ago).

All engine parts seem good and bike runs well!

Selling for £1000 o.n.o. Will put more pics up shortly.

Tel: Dave on 07415371191 bike located in Baildon, West Yorkshire.
