You chaps are usually not short of opinions, so...

I was thinking about getting some paddock stands for my Gen 1 Thou.

I can do most routine checks, etc. just with the centre stand, but I was planning on cleaning the down pipes, servicing the EXUP and potentially getting the wheels spruced up over the winter.

So is it worth investing in a pair of paddock stands or not ? If so, what paddock stands out there are ideal for the Thou please ?

Went down today. 2.5 hours there. 2.5 hours back. 2.5 hours at the show.

Went with the express hope of getting a test ride (or two) but I was about 80th in a queue for (what turns out was) 55 places.

Gutted.  :'(

Still, nice to see loads of bikes and sat on quite a few. Most seemed to lean way forward.

Best bike ...was at home in the garage.

Just showing my face here for the first time. Got an old style, streetfightered, Fazer 600 but I'm working on restoring it back to original factory settings.
It's my first long use inline 4 and feels very weird, being so used to having singles, twins and V-twins all my life!
Why is there no power before 3k revs?

Hi guys, just been given a really bad price for trade in for my fazer 8, its kitted out with everything, so just waiting to find out if I will get same price if bike was put back to bog standard, if they say yes, then I will be selling off all my extras that have been fitted, the list is as follows, Viper Blue seat colw, viper blue belly pans, ASV levers, Crash Bungs, Akrapovic Exhaust, Silver FZ8 Radiator protector, and I have also changed the main suspension on it, more details for that can be supplied later, is there anybody interested in maybe purchasing any of them, I would put the bike up for sale as is, but its still under finance to need to clear that.

Bike has been smelling of exhaust fumes quite strong lately took oil filler cap off and it stinks of exhaust gases.
Bike runs fine and i have checked the crankcase breathers and all is clear.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Being of a certain age I started motorcycling in the 1960's I often forget that once you rode a motorbike you became an outlaw, often banned from 90% of pubs and cafes, why ? well here's a press cutting, from 1964 (a bit before I was a biker) the lower photo is of the old Squires at Sherburn-in-Elmet, would the press print stuff like that today, I doubt it.
