  New fazer owner!
Posted by: Benjy420 - 18-12-13, 08:57 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (2)

Hey folks just got myself my first 'big' bike which is a 2001 fazer 600... and thinking it may be restricted because a fellow biker rode it back for me after buying and he said it felt a bit. .. lacking of power as it reached the 6000rpm mark.... is it easy enough to wip the tank off and get to the carb rubbers to check for blades/washers etc... A Haynes manual is on its way to me hence why I am asking haha

  Winter Project
Posted by: adeejaysdelight - 18-12-13, 05:52 PM - Forum: General - Replies (26)

Hi Guys,

I bought this yesterday as a wee project to work on over those long winter nights. It has 21,000 miles, some decent mods (braided hoses, tail tidy, K & N filter) and some no so decent (stickers, shitty mini indicators).

My plan is to do all of the work myself as nothing to technical is required. It needs a new sprocket cover, a full service, fluid change, callipers cleaned up and a deep valet.

It is going to be more labour intensive than anything, but it keeps me busy  Big Grin

My big fat gypsy rally, or Rallying, father ted style, you decide
Posted by: HarryHornby - 18-12-13, 02:42 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

I know it's a cage and nothing like a Fazer, but this cheered up my Wednesday afternoon.  You must have sound turned on on your PC though.

Who has picked up my Fazer!?
Posted by: alexanderfitu - 17-12-13, 10:15 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

It was listed on ebay from JAX Motorcycles for £1795.

The cheeky bugger even told me the headlights where shit and needed changing, bastard!

It was reg y297 nll. Hope the person who has bought it is on here, got a great deal!

SP exhaust, cvieth ultraguage. led brake lights and led indicator boards, heated grips, alarm.

Lovely bike! I do miss it! (considering the beamer has already had a new battery, regulator and stator, left heated grip and gear position sensor, all in 1 month)...

  Bandit 600 sale or swap
Posted by: stevierst - 17-12-13, 06:19 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

Bought this bandit as I wanted to try out the naked experience. I've realised It's not for me!
It's a 99 bandit n on a T plate. 22000 miles, and in what I would call showroom condition!

Test till April, tax till end may.
GSXR piggyback shock.
Re sprung forks to match.
Recently overhauled brakes.
Braided brake lines. (front is dual lines)
Custom seat.
Renthal ultra lows.(+ originals)
Heated grips.
S/steel cooler guard.
Tinted flyscreen.
Fenda extenda.
Carbon effect rear hugger.
Renntec grab rail.
Luggage rack now fitted.
Scottoiler + dual feed nozzle.
New chain/sprockets.
Stubby scorpion titanium + baffle
Chrome engine bars.

I think that's it!
I'm after £1300 as it's absolutely immaculate, OR a swap (cash adjustable) for a fazer, preferably a  foxeye, but I'm not that fussy.
Not desperate to sell, as still using it for work.

A tip for sun in your eyes
Posted by: fazersharp - 17-12-13, 04:10 PM - Forum: General - Replies (27)

Having just got back in from a ride out with the low sun in my eyes I remembered what I used to do when I was out everyday. Get some black insulating tape and cover the bottom 1 inch of your visor do it as a straight line so it tapers off at the edges of the visor left and right, when shut you don't loose any visibility as no doubt your helmet has some sort of rubber upstanding in the middle anyway. But when you are at a junction and the sun is in your eyes lift the visor and the tape then acts like a peak on a cap and shades your eyes. Lift the visor up or down to suit.  Obviously only useful whilst stationary or slow moving
