Just bought a FZS600 with a Givi rack. Is there anywhere on here that gives instructions on how to fit it.

Just testing the water to see if there will be interest.
Potentially up for sale a 1999 fazer 600 engine. Complete unit. It has the foxeye alternator fitted which helps with the foxeye mod! New clutch plates/springs 800miles ago which is also when a new cam chain was fitted and all valve clearances checked (all with in tolerances). The mileage is about 70k. No knocks, rattles and all gears select perfect!!! Can post a video of it running.
Now is there anyone who might be interested?

Ahoy hoy!
So, when I bought my bike I found it had a scotoiler with the Magnum HCR accessory. It was throwing oil all over the gaff and I found that it had three problems, it was turned up way too high and it had enough crud on the sprocket that it touching the nozzle, which was turned to face the sprocket, pulling the oil out pretty much constantly.
After sorting all this I found it to be great - clean wheel and nice clean lubed chain. However after not using it over xmas (2 weeks off) I have been gradually turning the flow meter up and up as its not oiling the chain. It is now back at the position it was when it was previously covering my back tyre with oil.
Is this a known issue? Anything that causes this?
I have checked the usual and it can flow oil out freely, the vacuum is ok etc. I have not laid the bike up for winter, its been in constant use and the temps are pretty much the same as they have been all the time I have been using it.

| New chain time - bigger sprocket on the FRONT? |

It's time for a new chain - the cheapo one I stuck on the old sprockets 3 years ago is approaching end of life.
So, I'm toying with the idea of putting a larger sprocket on the front. :eek
I'm not interested in pulling wheelies or riding like a dick, I more interested in MPG's on the way too and from work so the loss of accelleration isn't a problem.
Anyone tried anything like this before? How much difference will it make to the ride/MPG etc?

Hi all newbie here, I've got the chance to buy a 98 fazer 600, 40,000 miles fairly good nick, needs downpipes, £800.
I've had bikes for the last 34 years and for the last 10 have been down the classic jap scene route having restored x7's rds h1s etc, but have got a bit fed up of it all recently with a few breakdowns on ride outs, Z750 b1 electrical problem, dt175 holed piston, etc, you get the gist.
So basically I just need something fastish, reliable and pleasing to the eye. I've had several "modern" bikes, GSXR 750, aprilia rsv, z750 05 plate, and they've all left me feeling a bit flat. I'm not a fan of faired bikes or twins but like the smoothness of an inline 4.
I have always thought the fazer would look cool without the fairing and just a single round headlamp ( not those twin light jobbies), anybody done this ?
I've read quite a few posts on this site and the general consensus seems to be, change the bars, fit a more free flowing air filter, fruitier can and rear shock upgrade and bobs yer uncle, yes/no ?
On the face of it the bike I'm thinking of buying looks like a lot of bike for the money, think I'll just go for it, any advice ?
Cheers.

| Ivanising - Full Monty - which exhausts are you all using??? 60mm inlet cans?? |

Hi FOC-cers,
got Mike Greatorex coming over in May to Ivanise my Fazer Thou and I now need to sort out a decent end can and link pipe out of next months overdraft :-D
Mike's already been kind enough to make a few recommendations, but I wondered what you guys who already have the Full Monty are already using or may have even changed since the kit was fitted?
All experience gratefully received positive or negative.
I've managed to score a cheap BOS link pipe off FleaBay that I hoped to use with my Akrapovic race can but I'm pissed off to find the BOS is a 60mm diameter link with springs whilst my Akra has a 50mm.
My fault - not enough questions. DOH!
Does anyone know of ANY other bikes using a 60mm diameter inlet so I could try to source a 60mm carbon race can from that model.
Thanks in advance.
Dave
