Yes we have a good time, four Foccers came up the night before and camped,,we went off to the pub then got chips,,yeh , yum yum.
and had a few tins back at home.
After an ok night in bed , oh and the others in the orchard we warmed the bikes up

Then we were of to Doms bike stop for a full english brekkie
outdoor cuisine at its best

Then 50 odd miles up to meet Fizzys gang.

  FZS600 - Headlamp low-beam blinding drivers problem
Posted by: Torque - 14-04-14, 09:15 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Hey,
After some miles and going back from a ride after it went dark I've realized that my Fazer blinds other drivers.
When it's dark I could see that low-beam is effectively staying high-beam with the same frequence as driving over the uneven roads.

I've spot that the low-beam bulb casing it's loose and it felt down, I've fixed it once, but then it felt down again after few hundred miles.
Does it mean my headlamp is broken or it's just badly assembled?

Here it's the image:

  Still a newbie rider
Posted by: theglove1978 - 14-04-14, 08:31 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

Got back yesterday after stonking 3 day trek and 350miles enjoyed on my first and only bike, the humble Fazer!

Morecambe to Scarborough via Thirsk.  Scarborough to Keswick via Alston (that was a twitchy bum route in high wind and p*ss poor visibility).  Then a mince around the lakes via Devils bridge (it would be rude not to) and Sedbergh.

Still getting used to riding after 10months since passing test and what i found myself doing on the twisty and long-ish bits was staying in 4th.  The engine and rev combination was perfect to give immediate access to the power band as well as suiting a variety of different slower road conditions.  Of course i changed up and down for obvious reasons, but 4th for me was ideal for enjoying the finest rural roads on offer.

Is this good practice or reflection on the wide ranging Fazer gearbox?

What exhaust fits a Fazer 8
Posted by: david095 - 14-04-14, 07:32 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

Now I don't know much about this kind of thing so here we are.

I'm after an aftermarket can for my 2012 Fazer 8, and trying to keep it local (well at least in the UK) but some of the exhausts I like, the companies don't have a fit for a Fazer/FZ8.

I don't think the can itself makes a lot of difference (or am I wrong) but it seems to be the link pipe that makes a difference? I spoke to one company (for the life of me I can't remember who?) who said the can itself doesn't really matter?

So, would either a can and/or a link pipe for a FZ1 fit a fazer/FZ8, is there that much difference in engine size/mapping etc? :wall

cheers

  Wanted: Centre Stand
Posted by: andybesy - 14-04-14, 01:00 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

Hello Folks,

I need the spring which holds the centre stand up (the larger of the two, although happy to replace both).

I'd consider buying either just the springs, or if it's in good condition the whole centre stand unit (including springs).

If you have anything like this available drop me a PM and we'll sort something out.

Or if anyone knows any cost effective way to replace the spring (a standard one? pattern part?) let me know!

Thanks, Andy

  Chopped out my scotoiler
Posted by: cfoley - 14-04-14, 09:55 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (11)

Beautiful morning, thought I'd ride my bike to work. Ended up having to get the bus. Sad

Last time I washed my bike, the tube from the scotoiler fell away from where it was fixed and was dragging along the floor. It had long since run dry so I thought it would be a 2 minute job to take it off.

After removing a couple of cable ties the hose still wouldn't come away. Decided to trim it so cut away the part dragging on the floor and chopped it it near the scotoiler too.

So far so good. Didn't know what the other hose was for, couldn't see where it went so chopped it anyway which made it east to follow... right to the carburettor (I think). I have no idea what to do with that, or even if it is OK to ride my bike until I get it sorted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  International Spacestation flyover
Posted by: Buzz - 14-04-14, 09:25 AM - Forum: General - Replies (44)

Tonight at 8:15pm there should be a great clear skies for the ISS flyover.  I saw it go over on Saturday and it was massive (for something 200 miles away anyway), well worth 5 minutes of your time.
