  FZ1 FCE problems :-(
Posted by: MadDogMcQ - 16-04-14, 09:35 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

I installed the FCE tonight to my 2007 FZ1 and found it very straightforward with the help of a pictorial-guide from another forum. There were no installation problems at all. Fired the bike up and everything seemed fine, so I got my gear on and went for a ride.

Initially, it seemed okay (apart from the usua; 3000-4000 flatspot still being there), but then when I reach some traffic lights and came to a halt, I noticed that when I blipped the throttle, I got what I can only describe as a "Dual Response"!!

One blip produced the expected increase in revs, followed immediately by another slight increase!

If you blip the throttle twice in quick succession, the second produces MUCH higher increase to the revs.

As you can imagine, this makes the bike feel extremely odd out on the road. In all other respects, the motor runs fine - pulls strongly all the way through from 4500 to 11000.

It's late and dark, so I couldn't really do any more testing. Anyone got any ideas please??  I'm gutted!  :'(

O.K i,ve got about £130 to spend, the front runner for me is the RST Blade which comes with a good back protector and seems like a dual purpose (fit for warm summer riding and winter riding) do you guys know of anything better than this for the same amount.Must be able to do the cold winter months and be a sports looking style, also cool in the main summer months.[/size]Regards Ady

  Centre Stand Rubber
Posted by: goalieadam - 16-04-14, 01:51 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

Afternoon all!
I have finally managed to refit my centre stand after it was repair/resprayed.  Unfortunately during my first attempt to get it back on I ended up snapping the rubber the protects the exhaust from the stand.  Does anyone know where I can get a replacement one from?
Also now the stand is there its time to give it a good clean as the rear end in particular is really greased up.  What are recommended products for getting rid of all the greae round there and getting the chain/sprockets cleaned?

  Lovely couple of days.......
Posted by: MadDogMcQ - 16-04-14, 11:14 AM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Hasn't it been great weather?? On Sunday I spent 10 hours and 300 miles in the saddle riding through North Wales with friends
(including a Welsh guy who showed us some AMAZING roads) and then Tuesday I went all over North Yorkshire with some girl friends(!)
and covered another 260 miles in an 11 hour period, spending time in some wonderful places. This is what biking's all about :-)

Anyone use any of the following tyres (what pressure you run)
Posted by: Sandscorcher - 16-04-14, 10:08 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (18)

Got my first big bike - 2001 Faxer 600 Boxeye  Smile

Problem is its got mixed tyres on it but I can't for the life of me find out (after 2 days of searching this site and net) what pressures I'm supposed to run !!!
Front - Bridgestone Battlax BT96 Radial 110/70/17
Rear  - Maxxis Supermaxx Radial 160/60 ZR17
Closest guess I have is 36 front & 40 rear !!!
Info from anyone using these or used these tyres would be appreciated  Wink

Cheers,
Sandscorcher (Lee)
