  nitron shock problem
Posted by: carlos - 23-04-14, 09:06 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

hi foccers I have just managed to fit my nitron shock to my 99 fzs but have found the bottom shock bolt just a bit to short with the thicker shock fittings on the nitron the mountings are about 2 mm thicker either side.
this means the nut cant fully get on the bolt.
any on else had this issue?? it will go on fully if I leave the washer off is this a good idea??

my mechanic neighbour has told me never run the bike on the side stand if the bike aint been used for a while, the reason he his saying this is because the oil will all be on one side of the engine, it makes sense I suppose but is it true.?

Ive just found one while having a bit of a garage clear out. Its the old style - but is in good condition.

Im not looking for much for it. lets call it £5 delivered (so postage and a couple of beer tokens).

its this part Im talking about (the part thats prone to snapping, but its the older porcelain/ceramic style, not the half plastic new one):

Just heard about this brave young lad on the STV news there, so looked him up. Brave doesnt even begin to sum him up - an inspiration for sure.

Quote:It's a final thumbs up from me! I've done well to blag things as well as I have up till now, but unfortunately I think this is just one hurdle too far.

It's a shame the end has come so suddenly- there's so many people I haven't got round to properly thank or say goodbye too. Apologies for that.

There was also so many exciting projects and things I didn't get to see out. Hopefully some will continue and if you want to carry on the fundraising please do (justgiving.com/stephen-sutton-TCT
is the link to donate to).

All future updates on this page will probably be from a family member. I hopefully may have the energy to write a few tweets (@_StephensStory). I will continue fighting for as long as I can, and whatever happens next I want you all to know I am currently in a good place mentally and at ease with the situation.

That's it from me. But life has been good. Very good.

Thank you to my mum and the rest of my family for everything. Thank you to my friends for being amazing. Thank you to my medical team for the hard work and effort they've continually they've put towards me. And thank you everyone else for sharing this wonderful journey with me.

I love you all x

If I catch the person who did it there will be a lump hammer/finger interface.....CUNTS! :grumble :grumble :grumble :grumble

270 miles to a tank ....Is it possible ?
Posted by: dazza - 23-04-14, 05:29 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (21)

Hello Foccer's,

First of all, this thread is for my own reference but, feel free to join in, take the piss or tell me my theory is "seriously flawed".  Big Grin
I think it is.(Not seriously flawed but possible). Having already achieved over 258 miles to one tank of fuel I'm convinced that you can push it further.
Over Easter I rode home from Hereford, using the motorways, pretty much keeping to legal-ish speeds but more importantly was pretty gentle  and smooth with the throttle. Went through a couple of showers which helped to keep me from gunning it.
Today I went for a little bimble in the sun and when I had reached 261 miles on that same tank I opened it up to see how much was in there.
It looked pretty low so I headed for the petrol station.
Miles achieved on that single tank.....263.6
Amount of fuel to fill it up..................22.55L
Average MPG...................................53.3
I never actually ran out of fuel, nor did it cough or splutter. So, could I squeeze another 6.4 miles out of it ? I think I can.
Bearing in mind this bike has been full monty'd, I think this is quite impressive.
