Name that bike - new game
Posted by: hightower - 02-05-14, 02:31 PM - Forum: General - Replies (24)

Ok, so half hour to go at work and I am bored. So here's a new game for all you petrol heads. Similar to the take a picture of your bike next to game, I have attached a zoomed in picture of a bike.

First person to get it gets to make their own zoomed in bike picture for us to guess. The trick will be making it zoomed in enough to be obscure so as not obvious, but not too hard (as in give people a chance).

Here's first one, hopefully not too easy:

  Eurostar @ Ashford
Posted by: GosportFazer - 02-05-14, 12:37 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - No Replies

Hey folks, planning a holiday in Kent come July, and me and the missus were thinking of taking the eurostar passenger service to Paris from Ashford on one of the days. Does anybody know what the motorcycle parking situation is like there? Is there anywhere cheap/free to park up for the day?

Hi folks
I'm a publican from South Bucks.
On here to look at improving my fzs600 99 for a few road trips. So I'll be searching and posting the forums for anything from better handlebars to campsites in UK.

Cheers

  Modifying fzs600 Pannier rack
Posted by: Barlord - 02-05-14, 11:35 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (12)

I'm trying to source a Givi monkey pannier rack for my 1999 fzs600.... Obvs they are obsolete now but I have friends with welding and cutting gear.

So can the rack for a fzs600  fz6 04-06 be modified? I'm guessing it's really just the distance between bolt under seat and foot peg mount and maybe the wide for stabilizing cross section?? Or is there a cheaper option?

Whining sounds from front end once over 25mph
Posted by: Arfa - 02-05-14, 11:16 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (9)

This last couple of days, I've noticed a whining, whistling sound from front end, once I get above 25-30mph ish. What do you reckon, wheel bearings? Crud in brakes?

Front pads were new around Jan/Feb ish. New Speedo thingy was fitted then too, as old one broke. Front tyre was new about 2 months ago. If I lift front up, the wheel does seem to have some resistance when turned, as though it's catching/rubbing on something.
When I turn slowly on a tight corner (out of sharp junction for instance) the front end does feel a bit notchy, although it's always felt like this as long as I remember.

What do you reckon?

  Downpipes advice
Posted by: Macca4786 - 01-05-14, 08:49 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Evening all

So as a bank holiday project i have removed the downpipes off my Fazer as they were looking a bit shabby. I am taking them to work tomorrow and hoping to get the hole welded which is quite big right near the top where they connect to the engine block. (not even sure if it can be welded so fingers crossed). Sad

Once they are welded i obviously need to paint them, anyone any ideas whats best to do regards painting?? Don't want it to be flaking off after 3 months but also don't want to spend 100's on getting them professionally finished. Any good recommendations on paint ??

Or do people just recommend on stop wasting my time and replace them ??

Thanks

Danny
