Hiya fellas,
As per title looking for a small bit of welding work on my exhaust link pipe - dropped at 0mph :groan on r/h side and got a slit on the outside of the pipe roughly half the diameter which can be welded. It's a clean break.
I think its stainless but not 100% sure. If its stainless then I think its a Tig job, if it's mild steel then it's another type of welding....Mig???
If anyone fancies a quick fix and a bit of cash (ideally this Sunday) then please feel free to drop me a line.
Cheers in hopefulness :lol

Hi,
I'm aware the bikes are very similar but could anyone say the main differences apart from performance, I know the fairings are different but would a thundercat for example leave the fazer standing?

So phase 1 of my improvements to my 2004 FZS1000 should be complete on Sunday when it gets Ivanised.
Maybe in a year or so I will consider the R1 forks upgrade but I have just had my forks rebuilt and brakes serviced so I want to get some use from them first.
Time to start thinking of the cosmetic improvements starting with wheels. I dont hate the standard wheels and dont imagine there would be much, if any weight saved with aftermarket aluminium wheels or standard wheels from later bikes? I have carbon Dymags on my Superduke but doubt I will go to the expense on the Fazer.
I am not really bothered about a 6inch rear rim so not R1 wheels.
Does anyone know if the later FZ1 wheels fit? Or are they 6 inch rears too?
Would the FZ8 or FZ6 wheels fit if I just wanted 5 spokes?
If either does fit, would this entail swapping to FZ1 / FZ8 / FZ6 discs also or would the FZS discs suffice.
Any other suggestions?
The other thing I havent noticed anyone talking about is gearing. Every Jap bike I have ever owned I have gone down 1 tooth on the front or up 2-3 on the rear. Not sure If I will bother with the Fazer as I suspect it will be have plenty of acceleration once Mike has done his magic on it.
What sprockets do you all run?

How about this for a first post - need help trying to remove a datatool duo :'(
To cut a long story short I lost the one and only fob I had for the immobiliser, and datatool said I would have to pay someone to remove the unit, which they could re-programme with two new fobs and then re-install. "Obviously" I chose to do it myself, and being a naive bloke with no real auto-electrical experience, I'm now in a pickle.
Before I get on to asking advice on certain wires that I have left after removing the immobiliser, my first question is why is there an alarm in the haynes wiring diagram for the fazer if they didn't come out the factory with them fitted? Can I ignore any wires that should be connected to the "alarm" if I don't have one?

Hello everyone,
I'd just like to see if any one has done a track day on there fazer? I'm just intrested as for the fun of it me and a few other bikers went to a open car park the other day (which was empty and no obstacles near by)
and decided to see if we could do some knee down runs, now I was getting very low (the footpegs scrapped) but without knee sliders I couldn't really complete it, the other bikers on there super sports seem to be able to lean more with less effort, is this because the bikes are better suited for the task? I'm certainly looking at doing a track day on the fazer and would like to hear if anyone here has done one.
