Ahoy all.

Recently got myself a '98 FZS600 which i'm taking on as a 'project' and making it a cheapfighter as my first big-boy bike. Quite the change from the 2000 Virago XV125!

Do we still do A/S/L on forums? Is that still a thing?
If Answer=Y, then: 34/M/Leicestershire and my interests (other than bikes) are: Kittens; giant robots; pc games; industrial music and trying to stay in bed as long as possible.

Pirelli Angel GT tyres, anyone tried them?
Posted by: FuZzBoM - 14-06-14, 06:56 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (7)

Currently have a Bridgstone BT 023 on the rear of my thou and will need to be replaced soon.
I had intended to get a Bridgstone T30 put on in the next few weeks but recently been hearing about this new Pirelli Angel GT tyre. Just wondered if it was worth a go? Is much different to the T30?

Or any other tyre I should consider? I only tend to go out for evening and weekend blasts. Hardly ever commute and tour once or twice a year so bike is more a toy so prefer a sporty tyre over a long lasting tyre.

thanks,

  On this day...
Posted by: ChristoT - 14-06-14, 04:09 PM - Forum: General - Replies (16)

On this day, 2 years ago, at 2:30pm, I presented myself at the Bury St Edmunds test centre for my Mod 2 on my XL125 Varadero. I was quite nervous, as I had to be out of Uni accomodation 2 weeks later, and needed to get home to France.

An hour later, I left the test centre, where, to my astonishment, I found I had indeed passed my test. That was the beginning of my rideing career proper.

And so today, my 33hp restriction is lifted from my license! It's a bit bittersweet: I look forward to riding some more powerful bikes, not least Project fazer, but I'm a bit sad that I'm unable to ride a bike today.

Ride safe, all, and let the good times roll.

All in great condition.
The box is the NT which is black and silver and has the Monokey fitting system so is suitable for ANY rack on any bike with the Monokey system.

The arms fit to a Gen1 Fazer 1000 (only) bike in 5 mins and come complete with the Monokey plate which will allow you to fit any Monokey topbox.

Box - £150
Rack including plate - £50

Collection preferred from Crewe in Cheshire but free delivery may also be possible if you're within 1 hour.

Postage extra.......probably £20 ish I would imagine for mainland GB but final price TBC.

  windsheild and mirrors
Posted by: frostman - 14-06-14, 12:06 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (7)

Hi

Please forgive me as this is possibly a repeated question. I have a large frame and despite adjusting the mirrors the best i can i have to move my arms in to see behind me, is there an easy solution to extend the mirrors.

Second question the fazer i have has the standard windscreen, again as i am 6ft 4 can anyone advise me on where i can get a larger windscreen to stop some of the wind flow

thanks

  Front brake bleed issue
Posted by: Yamazer-92 - 13-06-14, 11:57 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (17)

Got my calipers back today after having them refurbed with new seals etc, went to re fit them to the bike with new hel braided lines and there is a big problem. We can get fluid to the calipers, then the fluid coming out into the bleed nipple and pipe is nice and clean no air but there is absolutely no pressure whatsoever at the lever. This is so frustrating because it was the very last job I am doing on my fazer rebuild since my accident, this was meant to be the last easy piece in the puzzle.

My Dad fitted the brake lines, he put the yellow label at the top and the black rubber bit at the caliper end is this correct? Just ruling out anything strange we may have missed. We have tried priming them, bleeding them manually and also used a vacuum and it is all resulting in fluid entering calipers with minimal air bubbles or completely clean but absolutely no pressure at the lever. The fluid is not leaving the reservoir very quickly either. I am now thinking the master cylinder has somehow had it? Any help would be massively appreciated!
