  Anyone owned a ......
Posted by: stevierst - 20-06-14, 06:52 PM - Forum: General - Replies (21)

Has anyone on here ever owned/ridden a KTM superduke, or 950/990  supermoto?

Being tempted probably as a moment of madness by chopping in the gen II for one, and would like a  bit of an owner's review.

  Meta 357T v2 Alarm
Posted by: JoeRock - 20-06-14, 04:51 PM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

Hi guys, Anyone on here got any knowledge 0f these alarms or of alarms in general? (other than ripping it out?) After 10 years of service, the 357T fitted to my old FZS600 has now stopped working as it should (dead internal battery), and so my dad has had to take it out of the bike to stop it immobilising. There's two plugs on it, one of which is a little white one (the starter circuit breaker), so by bridging that wire the start circuit will activate as it should. Then there's another kill on it, which I'm not 100% sure but I think is probably wired into the spark plug circuit (as without this bridged the bike will turn over, but not fire up). After having bridged that, the bike will start and run as normal, except, weirdly the following problem Basically the indicators, but only the left hand side cut the power? It's a bit weird as they actually cut the power perfectly in time with the indicator flashing on, almost like someone is flicking the kill switch on and off? If the bikes ticking over then it just uts out, but if its revving it just basically misses and the revs drop every time the indicator flashes? Does anyone have any possible ideas how this could be wired up to have this effect? We'd rather not remove the alarm as my da is probably going to just buy another alarm block and plug it in, for hopefully another 10 years of decent service!

Hello folks,
Just joined the forum as a complete novice. Took a basic introduction to motorbikes this week having not riden a bike in 20yrs (I'm 43) First up was a Suzuki 125 followed by an hr on a KTM 500 in a closed envirnoment. Think I might have caught the bug!! Asked a few questions of my instructor and was told that if I am to progress a Fazer 600 or Suzuki Bandit would be the way to go. Done a little reading and the Fazer seems to be the better bike, so here I am!

Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated, thanks for reading

Ken

Sorry to hijack this forum for contacting. Hopefully nobody is offended.
The german fazerforum.eu is offline since several days, nobody has any idea why. Most of the members used PMs, email are typically shared, now staying in the blind. So am I.
I'm hoping some of them are also registered here. Maybe they can share some more infos about the status?

EDIT:
Just received new informations. The domain name has expired. The following 2 links work instead:

Just how bad is the rear brake?
Posted by: Timbollew - 19-06-14, 11:37 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Changed my chain today and while it was apart I noticed one of my pistons was seized on the rear caliper, anyway many fiddly hours later the brakes are back together and on the bike. It works but it's crap to say the least, it's never been much good. I can't get the rear to lock up if I stamp on it (not that I want to but you know what I'm getting at. Are they just this bad anyway? Or should I strip and replace all the seals and stuff? I bled the brakes and there was no air comin through, do I need to bleed them more? Should the wheel just spin freely as I can hear a little bit I friction from the pads? The pads look quite old to be fair maybe I'll get a new set.

Just joined the forum, had my 03 FZS600 for seven years and it's still done less than 10k miles! and bog standard (so it's pretty clean)
