Best bike ever?...........Damn straight!
Posted by: Loplop46 - 25-06-14, 02:06 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (1)

Hi everyone.  Thought I'd do a little post regarding my fazer.  First I've gotta say thanks to everyone as this site is the absolute nuts regarding fazer info (as I'm sure you're all well aware) and I've put it all to good use.  I've been riding around for a month or so exactly as I collected it but last night got the tools out.

Now I've had a couple of 40 mile rides and enjoyed it but getting off my gsxr the fazer obviously felt a little squidgy.  My riding mate runs a 59 plate zx6-r and, well it was difficult to stick with him. So with Allen key in hand we set about dropping the front 12mm maxing the rear preload, bar one click and tweaking the rebound and compression. Then off for another 40 mile run this morning and bugger me it's night and day compared to before. Turn in is just right for me now and that pesky zx6 is a bit closer!

I think with some suspension mods (must get hold of devilsyam) plus some new bars this gem of a bike could be with me for some time.

Hope you've all had as good a day on your fazer as me!

Hello Folks - newbie signing in
Posted by: Biker_Bob - 25-06-14, 02:04 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (5)

Good day to all. I've just picked up my 3rd FZS600 on an R plate.
Very nice little bike, I'm enjoying the power after 2 years on a 650 single !
I've pressed the bike into my normal routine, which includes a bit of green laning - well, why not? The Americans are pretty big on off roading unsuitable motorcycles  :rollin

Putting my FZ1 through spanish ITV
Posted by: lew600fazer - 25-06-14, 12:58 PM - Forum: General - Replies (9)

Any forum members living in Spain? I think there might be a couple?? Anyway I am biting the bullet and going to register my FZ1 on to spanish plates. Just wondering if I am going to have problems with the headlight. Is the 09 mod FZ1 headlight adjustable, or is it, as I am hoping just a flat beam??
The guy that bought my Kwacker Z1000SX said when he went to have the ITV (Spanish MOT)done it took all of 10 minutes and they never even looked at the lights so I am hoping they are as efficient when it comes to doing my bike.

2001  and 29000 miles.

I had a 2006 late reg gen 1 a few years ago and missed it ever since I sold it.
After the ride today I may now sell the XT1200 as i forgot how much fun the Fazer was.

for sale a givi wingrack2 with indicators, partial bracket for fzs600 and boxes
Posted by: bowen93 - 24-06-14, 09:36 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (4)

for sale givi wingrack2 with indicators and top box with brake light and side boxes for it. it was fitted to an old style fazer 600 11 years ago. was taken off during the summer and the bike got smashed up. was sat in shed for 10 year, i just cleaned up all oxidization on aluminium and rust on steel arms due to long term storage in shed and resprayed the whole thing black. so it has i think a partial fitting kit to it for an fzs600. the boxes are 2xe36 side boxes and a compact e29 top box cant find key for top box a moment all givi, make me an offer Smile sorry i dont know how to post pictures here so here is the link to my fb that has them all in. the boxes btw just need a wipe over, the top box has a scratch going across what i think is the brake light. dont know how to post pictures on here sorry why link to album. also listed for all or split on ebay

  Hello all. Can you help?
Posted by: Ktmtrumpshonda - 24-06-14, 05:48 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (3)

Hello all. Bought my 2001 fazer 1000 last year after an 8 year spell away from road bikes and selling my beloved KTM EXC. I'm really impressed by the fazer and enjoy every ride. However, after a recent trip to Scotland I had the misfortune to have an argument with bambi at about 80mph!!!! I managed to stay on the bike but know need front forks, front mud guard and a new radiator!!! I am aware that original forks can be hard to get at reasonable prices so will have to go down the used items route. Some people say that forks from other bikes will fit (R1's and R6's). Can anyone who may have done such a mod please help with some good advice???

Many thanks and hello to all.
