  This week is getting better
Posted by: BBROWN1664 - 24-06-14, 04:06 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Having started the week on a downer (cremating my grandmother) I have had two bits of good news today. Just waiting for the third Smile

First, having had a running battle with Hoover Candy to fix our three year old Baumatic oven they have agreed to replace it with a brand new one

And second, My youngest son has been selected as one of the two students from his school to do the WW1 battlefield trip that the UK government is sponsoring for every school to do this year.

Come on #3, your time is almost up.

  suggestion for the mobile site

I mainly use the mobile site now and find it very good. On threads with multiple pages, would it be possible to add the GOTO page and page forward buttons at the top of each page, rather than having to scroll to the bottom?
Cheers

  Hi All

Hi from sunny East Yorkshire.

Had a 99 FZS600 for a few weeks now.  Great bike, but a preious owner streetfighter'd it a bit.

Still, once I get a fairing and lights on, and the origianl clocks and speedo drive, it will be a great bike.

Now, to find plastics, clock, headlight, speedo drive........

just wanting to say hello, I picked up a 2000 plate FZS600 yesterday... lots of fun!

decent enough condition, just under 20k miles, comes complete with a few cosmetic issues, but nothing major or concerning...

I'm looking for a rack and top box if anyone knows of one going for sale!

and although I'm sure you all know what the bike looks like... here is a picture  :rollin

Another ebay waste of my diesel
Posted by: sadlonelygit - 23-06-14, 11:47 PM - Forum: General - Replies (18)

After the debacle of the ducati owner who wouldn't make an effort to be home to sell me the bike, tonight we had the R1 that wouldn't rev over 9k.
I think it's going to be biketrader only from now on

  Bike - Rider Bonding
Posted by: CraigL - 23-06-14, 09:45 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (13)

Nothing kinky or obscure  Smile

When any of you first got your Gen 1 Fazer, was it instant satisfaction or did it take a while to bond?

Picked up my Gen 1 in late Feb but as yet I don't feel like I have bonded with it yet! Have only ridden it 12 - 18 times and these were only 1 or 2 hr ride outs. Not sure if its the bike or me.

Late September last year I had an accident on my GSX 1400, which resulted in my bike being written off and me with a very nasty broken ankle. No one else was involved mind, wasn't speeding or riding like an idiot - I just got it wrong and paid the price. The Fazer is my first bike since the accident, I don't ride along and worry or panic that it might happen again - I just don't feel that I'm enjoying biking as much as I used to.

There are a couple of niggly things that I would like to do to the bike to make me happier - the first being balancing the carbs as she can be a little lumpy at low revs and hoping it will also eradicate the slight rattling noise I get from the clutch when the bike is in neutral and the clutch lever is out.

Any words of wisdom or should I man the f u and get out and ride  :rollin

  blanking caps on the carbs
Posted by: mobile mouse - 23-06-14, 09:10 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Hi,
Does anyone know were you can buy the blanking caps.
I filled up with fuel from a fuel can that had been sitting in the garage for about 4 days.
Subsequently the bike started running with a misfire which looked to be getting worse.
Initially I thought it was contaminated fuel and was going to have to siphon it out and throw away.
But I noticed after going over the bike (MY03) one of the blanking caps you take off to balance the carbs had perished.
The carb must have been sucking air through the split cap causing the hesitation.
I have temporary fixed by wrapping it in self amalgamating tape which has worked, no hesitation, but would like a replacement.

I cannot find the part in the fazer parts list 2003 (pages 11,12).
Does anyone know which item it is in the pages so I can get a part number.

Cheers,
