Blocked pilot jet !! Again !!
Posted by: judder - 01-06-21, 08:48 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

Evening everyone  !! Not been on for some time but I have a question. Hope someone can advise me. I renewed the pilot jets on my Fzs600 18 months ago. All good. Now the bike has stood a while as there was nowhere to go during the pandemic and I find just No1 pilot is blocked again. Question is, has anyone managed to remove the float bowl and jet without taking the carbs off .It looks do able but fiddly if I can adapt a screwdriver. I wish I had put Allen screws in. No1, rear brake pedal side. Thanks in advance

  Naked or not
Posted by: Parky7 - 30-05-21, 09:53 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - No Replies

Hi chaps some thoughts please

Recently got a fazer as for the wife to practice on as she wants to do her test… :eek
Got it cheap as it was a cat N a few years backfor body work damage… but it has been mot ed for the last four years with out issues
fairing is cracked and grazed but is repairable..
I’m going to respray myself as the paint word is crap
I have taken the fairing off and the bracket is bent (forks and frame are good )
Headlight will need replacing as the the reflector is peeling and the bulb shield cap is rattling….
And headlight are shite anyway…

Question is do I make it a naked or not
Bearing in mind the cost to put it back to standard, and it’s going to be used as a learner bike (so likely to be dropped again…
I know the resale value will be less for a naked but seeing that it is a former cat n I don’t expect to get much for it if a do decide to get rid ..

What is the process for turning it naked…  :eek
Headlight, brackets etc…
Any info or pics or thoughts  would be greatly appreciated

Thanks….

Hello, as the title says I'm looking for the passenger/pillion brackets for my FZ8 but feel that YAMAHA wants a little too much for em.

  FOR SALE: 2003, FZS600, 16k - £2100 (SOLD)
Posted by: bernieeccles - 27-05-21, 11:43 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

For sale is my Yamaha FZS 600 Fazer, first registered on the 1st January 2003 -

The bike is in excellent condition, is very reliable with a "bullet proof" smooth well proven engine  and having carburettors has lovely smooth fuelling with non of the jerkiness some modern fuel injection bike have. It has 94bhp and can be ridden in a docile manner but if you rev it above 6k then hang on because it can really go.

  • MOT expiry date 5/3/2022.
  • Tyres are Bridgestone BT023 and were new last year.
  • Chain and both sprockets were renewed with quality DID gold chain and JT sprockets.
  • The front sprocket nut was also replaced with the newer updated and thicker Yamaha nut.
  • The bike has the benefit of Oxford Heated grips, a digital gear indicator and a recently purchased and installed Givi V47 top box and rack which alone
  • cost £234.
  • Yuasa battery is relatively new
  • the brake pads front and rear.
  • The front fork oil was changed last year.
  • New oil filter and semi synth oil change today 04/06/2021.
Being the "Foxeye" model, it has the uprated headlights with twin dipped and twin main beam. It also has the larger 22 liter fuel tank which no matter how hard you ride it, you always get 220+ miles to the tank. In some respects, these bikes are better than some of the more modern bikes on the market today. I took the bike on a road trip to Spain a couple of years ago and it was great, selling the bike as I have just bought a new Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX.

Currently have a deposit taken, so if it dosent sell then please enquire etc.
