I know that plenty of Gen 1 owners have successsfully received CoC certification without problem. However I completed the form this afternoon with relevent attached frame and engine numbers, and got a reply within hours to say it’s not ulez compliant. I thought all Gen 1’s had a NOX of 0.09 which is way below the ceiling of 0.15 required by TFL. It’s a 2005 and have owned from 8,000 miles. Any idea why I got the thumbs down.

Japan's Big Four Form New Battery-Swapping Company For Motorbikes

Like it or not, Electric Motorbikes are the future, so it's good to see big companies working together to make things easier for everyone instead of creating a whole load of different (and non-interoperatable) "standards"...
Since 2019, Japan’s big four motorcycle OEMs—Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha—have been working together on swappable electric vehicle batteries and associated technology.
[...]
It’s now March 30, 2022, and the Big Four just announced their next move on this project. Together with Japanese petroleum company Eneos, the consortium is establishing a brand-new company called Gachaco. The new firm will officially be established on Friday, April 1, 2022. Its two purposes will be the sharing of standardized swappable batteries for electric motorbikes and the development of appropriate infrastructure to support this service.

Hello one and all, new member been loitering around here since I got my 600 03 fazer last year. Been riding for quite a few years now but a couple of weeks ago was a first.
I have discovered it really isn’t big or clever to set off with the disc lock still attached!
And so one fairing repair later and we are up and running again, just got to repair the bruised pride now….
Ken (hanging around in the Cotswolds when I’m not in the Isle of Man).

Centre Stand Issue

Just had the old girl MOT'd.
Got an advisory for the centre stand being stiff and to be fair it is. Don't use it so never noticed. Had a good look underneath and it's a bit scabby.
Suspect it's a bit of corrosion between stand and frame with the bolts being also looking a touch tired.
The garage told me it needs sorting ASAP as the stand could come down whilst riding. This clearly makes me nervous but using my limited brain I'm not convinced it would just flap down, more the other case that it's more likely to stay up? Surely that's what the spring is for. I guess if the spring came off then yes it could come down with gravity.
Any advice appreciated.

E10 Winter storage. Starting up?

Has anyone yet attempted to start their Fazer after a storage period of 6 months? I filled my Gen1 to the top with E10 which had a small quantity of engine oil added to possibly help reduce tank rust, I then blocked off the tank cap air vent with tape. These are two things I always do. Bike NEVER fails to start 1st time every time after 6 months storage. Owned five years. After storing I then started reading up about E10! ? Three months life span and all that. I don’t know how this will turn out but it will give me and others a definitive answer. ?

I've been rebuilding a 2002 FZ1 that had sat outside for 4 years. Been a tough road but I think we're finally at the "tuning" part. It runs, it drives, now just to get it to stop pouring oil on startup. :lol
Glad to be here. You guys have a wealth of knowledge.
