  Higher bars
Posted by: greg1953 - 29-03-22, 09:35 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (15)

Can anyone recommend which bars to use for a more upright riding position ?, standard at present but I'd prefer slightly higher.

  Centre Stand Issue
Posted by: Middy2000 - 28-03-22, 04:39 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (14)

Just had the old girl MOT'd.

Got an advisory for the centre stand being stiff and to be fair it is.  Don't use it so never noticed.  Had a good look underneath and it's a bit scabby.

Suspect it's a bit of corrosion between stand and frame with the bolts being also looking a touch tired.

The garage told me it needs sorting ASAP as the stand could come down whilst riding.  This clearly makes me nervous but using my limited brain I'm not convinced it would just flap down, more the other case that it's more likely to stay up?  Surely that's what the spring is for.  I guess if the spring came off then yes it could come down with gravity.

Any advice appreciated.

What prices are Fizzers gonna hit in the future?

Crazy money, someone hoping it's now seen as an 'investment oportunity'

They'll go great in a vacuum sealed bubble :rollin

It is quite nice, tho - 6000 miles & doesn't seem to have any flaky engine paint. Certainly makes my own 'silver bullet' look like a complete rustbucket: then again, mine was a third of the price

  E10 Winter storage. Starting up?
Posted by: Decoke Dave - 25-03-22, 03:40 PM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

Has anyone yet attempted to start their Fazer after a storage period of 6 months? I filled my Gen1 to the top with E10 which had a small quantity of engine oil added to possibly help reduce tank rust, I then blocked off the tank cap air vent with tape. These are two things I always do. Bike NEVER fails to start 1st time every time after 6 months storage. Owned five years. After storing I then started reading up about E10! ? Three months life span and all that. I don’t know how this will turn out but it will give me and others a definitive answer. ?

  Fazer ressurection from PA!

I've been rebuilding a 2002 FZ1 that had sat outside for 4 years. Been a tough road but I think we're finally at the "tuning" part. It runs, it drives, now just to get it to stop pouring oil on startup.  :lol
Glad to be here. You guys have a wealth of knowledge.

Hi all
I got an advisory on my latest mot to change the brake fluid, can anyone tell me is bleeding ABS any more of a pain in the arse than regular brakes, also I was thinking of adding some braided hoses but it seems a lot more expensive than regular brakes, not sure exactly what needs replacing

  FZS600 Cafe Racer Build
Posted by: Clouddodger - 15-03-22, 08:00 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

Hi All,

I've spent many hours tawling through the various FZS600 threads to plug gaps in knowledge for my lockdown project which is now complete: a full rebuild and modificaiton of a FZS600 into a cafe racer.  Hoping the pictures of the end result show and sounding out to see if there is any appetite for a build thread to show how I went about the project and lessons learned on the way...

Cheers.

Just the usual heads up. It’s the Whitstable Egg Run April 3rd, leaving Tankerton Road Car Park, CT5 2AS, at 2pm. Bring an egg or make a donation on the day. Hot food available in the car park. The run is to a school in Canterbury.

Convert turn indicator to daylight running lights
Posted by: FazerSimon - 15-03-22, 07:27 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

Hi All,

Do you think it is possible to convert the standard Fazer indicator lights to be "always on" like daylight running lights, and then for them to flash as usual when activated from the standard turn switch?

Cheers for any help / ideas.

Simon.

  Fuel Tank capacity
Posted by: Grahamm - 14-03-22, 06:32 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

According to the manual, the fuel tank on the FZ6 can hold 19.4 litres.

But does anyone know if that's the absolute maximum (ie brim full to the cap) or whether it allows for an air gap at the top?
