Just a few things from my first week of ownership. This second gen Fz1n is my first naked bike and first litre bike so some things are taking some getting used to.
Screen or no screen? I don't yet have a screen on the bike. I've just been out on a 'spirited' ride and can honestly say I didn't really enjoy it due to what I think is wind buffeting.
At lower triple figure speeds the front end started to feel quite light and flighty so I tried leaning into it a bit more but as I lowered my head my helmet was being rocked left to right (kind of like saying no but very fast) it was so bad it actually made me dizzy for a few minutes.
Will a screen help with this? Or will it make it worse by making an area of lower pressure in front of my face?
Other thing is I have a hyperpro steering damper, again never had a damper before, and it seems very loose which I hope is normal and it also has a dial for setting it. Is this something I should play with or just leave alone? Lol
And lastly it has a standard ecu map so I'm suffering with the crap throttle response from closed to open and getting a lot of (very cool sounding) bangs from the aftermarket exhaust on deceleration. Is there anyway to smooth this out without having to spend a fortune on a power commander and dyno time etc etc?
Sorry for the essay. And thanks in advance for any advice you can give

Hi,
Sometimes I get nothing when trying to start my fazer, just a single solid click. I can bump start it to get it going, or if I leave it for a while and come back it will just start fine.
It will happen even if I just stop for 5 mins with the ignition off.
Here's a video, https://vid.me/tIGQ
I left the battery connected to a charger for a few days, but still have the problem. I don't think its the battery as it turns over fine when it does work. I wonder if it something to do with clicking noise that slowly dies, that I sometimes here when I turn the ignition on after its been off for a while, sounds like it might be the fuel pump. I also had to bypass the datatool veto evo (under direction from datatool) when I first got it as that packed up straight away.

Fyi
I just ordered a pair of Bahn riders from altberg, I phoned them up instead of ordering on their website and they were nearly £20 cheaper than advertised on the site!
It's good to talk

Gonna post my issue on here for the wider audience to see if anyone can pinpoint or recognise my bikes problem.
Last couple of weeks my 600 has been suffering from a very mild "shivering" effect at lower revs, and i'm not entirely sure what to do about it or what's causing it?
It's nothing major, yet, but it is there, which means it's bugging the hell out of me.
And it's not a stutter, or a hiccup like you would get with an air leak, but similar to the noise a person would make when they are very cold and shivering, but as stated it's only a mild effect.
It mainly happens at 2000rpm or below, and is most noticeable at under 20mph, so slow speed riding, which is why it's annoying me because I ride in traffic a lot. Above either the bike runs as sweet as a nut.
Otherwise the bike is mechanically sound and looked after.
Tickover is rock solid, needle doesn't move from 1200rpm, no hunting or anything.
Approaching 49,000 miles, mainly used for commuting.
Recent brand new TPS, in correct position at 5000rpm.
New battery a few months ago, and bike starts first time on the button, no choke needed at all.
K&N air filter cleaned and re-oiled a few weeks ago.
Oil changed within last couple of months, and cooling system is all fine and air tight.
NGK spark plug caps.
Carbs balanced by me 3 days ago, all totally level, which helped a lot but not got totally rid of it.
Quill aftermarket end can, been on there for years though, so totally ruled out.
If i pull the throttle back it runs perfectly, no coughing spluttering or anything, absolutely fine with smooth and efficient delivery of power.
Not changed plugs for a while, but i don't do high mileage at all, so although i don't actually think they need replacing i never jotted down when i last changed them, so i've ordered some new NGK Iridium plugs anyway to rule them out just in case.
So, anyone got any ideas at all, 'cos i'm a little bit stumped to be honest?

Hi all,
Has anyone replaced the coolant with evans waterless coolant?
See the following YouTube video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_2LCyN9eQ0
I am looking to remove the coolant overflow tank as I have a FZS1000 rear shock.
And to fit it I need to swap the 600 spring over onto the 1000 shock.
I will not need to modify the shock if the coolant tank is not there as it gets in the way.....
Am I correct in assuming to remove the coolant tank if I install the evans waterless coolant...
