  Clutch Knock
Posted by: Html33 - 26-09-16, 10:07 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

Hi Guys n' Girls

Just stripped and rebuilt the headstock bearing, still had the original OEM one fitted and had an awful notch at 12oclock. Lovely bikes to work on, was easy to lift old one out, new one in! Was a pleasure to work on.

Any way, i went out for a spin earlier and noticed when the clutch was out and in netural, i could hear a knock, i could also feel it through the seat and frame etc. When the clutch is pulled in that goes away just leaving my slightly noisy cam (getting a manual cct soon)

Any one got any idea of what it might be? Bike is new to me (done about 200miles, bike has 31k) but seems to pull hard, strong clutch, starts on the button and revs crisp.

thanks

OXFORD LIFE TIME LUGGAGE Tail Pack SOLD
Posted by: Oldcreaky - 26-09-16, 08:35 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (10)

For sale are my Oxford life time magnetic Tank Bag in red and a Tail pack in purple both are the expanding type. Both are in excellent condition with all zips and straps working as they should the tank bag could do with a clean to get rid of some road dirt.
They both come complete with the original rain covers and the tail pack also has the extra bungees and can also be used as a ruck sack. I will also throw in some rubber sheets to stop any scratching of paintwork. There is also a compact rucksack I will give to whoever want's it or if both are sold as one item it will go with the two bags.
These have years of service left in them and are only being sold due to my well documented eyesight loss due to a mini stroke.
I am away for a week from 2nd October so be quick if you like to purchase this week otherwise I shall be back on the 9th in the afternoon all being well.
I am located in Bristol, I can post for an extra charge but best to view and collect.
Please contact for more info.
Price for tank bag £20.00, Tail pack £30.00. Both together £40.00.

What do you all reckon to them?

Got given my first one in my change at the pub last night.

Quite an odd slippery feel to it and I wasn't expecting the window so you can look right through it :eek

It's good to see Churchill on the reverse side though :thumbup

FOR SALE FAZER 1000 2002 with extras NOW SOLD on EBay
Posted by: Oldcreaky - 26-09-16, 03:57 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (2)

This is my Fazer 1000 2002 in blue being sold only because of the reasons stated in previous posts namely that I have suffered partial loss of eyesight due to a mini stroke.
The mileage is 14.5k
It is fitted with twin outlet can, colour coded hugger and belly pan, heated grips, rear rack, blue screen and white indicator lenses. tyres are avons and still have life left in them. I fitted new front brake pads, cleaned the front and rear callipers and renewed the fluid. Engine oil and filter were changed and the exup valve cleaned and re-greased. All this was completed before I started to ride it. The bike is in excellent condition all round and comes with a folder of old mots and receipts. I only completed two short journeys of less than 200 miles in total before the stroke struck rendering me unable to continue riding or driving.
There two points to be aware of firstly the mot has run out because my inability to ride it to a test station.
Secondly the battery will not last the winter and could do with renewing. The bike will fly through an mot no problem.
If it does not sell I will try and find someone with a van or trailer to get the mot done.
I am away for a week from the 2nd October so bear this mind if you would to view.
The price is £2,000.00 no offers. Now sold on Ebay for £2450.00.

  Clutch slip
Posted by: stevierst - 26-09-16, 08:24 AM - Forum: General - Replies (10)

Never encountered this in a fazer (boxeye) before, and had 4 of them doing well over 100k on em.

When the engines cold the clutch slips at 4k, but gets less and less as the engine oil warms up until there's no slip at all. I've only had the bike a couple of months, but done the basics like adjusting the cable so there's some slack on it.
Gonna change the oil this week, but don't  think it's that.
Any suggestions?

  Choke problem?
Posted by: Grant1Shepherd - 25-09-16, 09:09 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

Hey guys

Went on a ride today across London, took about an hour, got to where I was going and parked up, the bike was parked for about an hour and a half to 2 hours, when I got back to it I started it and it was sounding like it was too cold to stay on, so I put the choke on a little bit and the bike stalled instantly.

I turned the choke off and turned the bike back on and then it really didn't sound happy, sounded like it was struggling to get fuel in it, when I Rev'd it a little it was just wasn't the normal noise, I rode it back home to which after about 10 minute and the bike getting warm it sounded perfect, and it did the whole hour long journey fine, even when I came to a red light it sounded perfect despite what it sounded like before I set off.

I'm not ruling out the possibility that I did something wrong and am an idiot so please don't hesitate to stay I made a mistake because I need to know so that I don't do it again.

Hope someone can help me out with this.

Thanks guys
