  bike problem ?
Posted by: Carter - 13-10-16, 07:01 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (9)

Every time I decide to go out on my bike lately, I put my lid on but then, wet stuff starts falling out of the sky and it seems to be getting colder all the time.
Is this a common problem or have I bought a lemon ? Smile

  Black Circles
Posted by: slappy - 13-10-16, 02:18 PM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

I am looking to get 4 new tyres for  the Peugeot boxer  that my son and I share, Black Circles seems to be cheapest and plenty of choice. Has anyone used them in the past, does their system work? Unsure about using them as they seem to use local tyre fitters that sell the same tyres but at a higher price than Black Circles!

foccer font of knowledge ......Beats etc
Posted by: maddog04 - 13-10-16, 11:22 AM - Forum: General - Replies (10)

looking for a pair of over the ear headphones to listen to music when walking the dog/sat at home. Would prefer Bluetooth but not too arsed if they are wired, can anyone recommend a good pair at a decent price?
saw an offer on Beats pro for £189 down from £380 but stopped a lad in the street who had a pair of beats on and he says there's better out there. I don't want cheap shite but I'm not Quincy Jones either so my ears aren't going to pick up every last note.......just need a good decent pair of OVER THE EAR type

cheers

  National Mileage Register
Posted by: His Dudeness - 12-10-16, 11:55 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

I'm looking at possibly buying a bike. I did a HPI check on it and it came up with a potential mileage discrepancy which has thrown a spanner in the works. It said that the bike had 120,000 miles and the mileage shown on the bike is way lower than that. Unfortunately there's no previous MOTs with it to prove the mileage but judging by the condition of the bike there's no way in my opinion it's done 120,000 miles. I was wondering how accurate is the National Mileage Register? Where do they get their mileage from?

Metzeler rubber ?? Handling probs ??
Posted by: Graham53 - 12-10-16, 11:13 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (15)

hi guys,
I'd really appreciate any advice on a tyre / steering prob on my gen 1
It's got Metz Z8 roadtecs on it that look almost new ( just bought the bike and they came on it and look like they were just put on before sale ) and to be honest the bike don't handle like I expected to , it always feels like I'm gonna tuck the front when I lean in like steering too quick and light or like it's going to understeer and I've got no confidence in it. I've had it serviced by Yam dealer today and got them to check frame , forks , bearings yokes  tyre pressures etc ( complete chassis check ) in case something bent causing it , but all good apparently except possible slightly bent bars , it's got renthal 758's.
So next on the checklist is tyres , never had Metz's always Bridgestone on my 600 except had PR2's for a bit and not impressed so do I spend a few quid and get new boots if so what ones are good, not too worried about tyre life as don't do a lot of miles these days just want a good tyre that will give me confidence on weekend runs out
Or there's plan b , will the R6 shock mod I've got from Devilsyam sat in the shed waiting to go on (when the missus finally stops giving me bloody jobs around the house ) make a difference and give me confidence in the Metz's.
All suspension settings I put back to standard in case previous owner's settings were doing it ,
Apart from that I love the bike
Any suggestions greatly welcome

  MT09 Tracer
Posted by: fzsmiffy7 - 12-10-16, 08:30 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Hi all,

So after my original post about selling the Tracer and the few comments I received along with some research into what these bikes are worth on the second hand market I have had a rethink.
I have seen a pretty wide variation in what people are asking for them but none that are up for less than £7500 so I thought my asking price was very competative, but that would only be true if someone was willing to pay that price. So I thought what would be the lowest i'd go to get a sale so I could move on, and although it would grieve me to think I would virtually be giving it away I would be willing to let it go for £7000 but that would be the rock bottom I'd go,offers lower than that I would say were taking the mickey.
The insurance is due on the 24th of this month so I think if it hasn't sold by then I'll renew the insurance and keep it, so if there's anyone out there who's interested in a cheap nearly new bike please hurry up and let me know.

Cheers

  Spluttering at low revs
Posted by: sc0ttie - 12-10-16, 06:52 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (13)

I have a 1999 FZS600 I have owned it for 18 months and it is now on 70,000 miles. Recently it has developed a spluttering power delivery in low revs, typically below 2000rpm and usually when cold but it has happened a few times now when the engine is fully warmed up, which has prompted me to post here.

Since ownership i have always used standard 95 unleaded fuel. never had a problem. The bike starts usually first time, amazingly and tick over is fine, no problems with that. It is just really when pulling away, in first and in low revs in second gear in traffic, it seems very boggy and splutters until it gets up to 3000rpm. Not every time, but its happening more often now.

Where do i start to check for solutions to this issue? electrical or fuel related?

  Which chain and sprocket kit?
Posted by: Adscan - 12-10-16, 05:39 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (21)

I need to replace the chain and sprockets on my FZS600 as the current ones are worn. Any recommendations on which kit to buy? I want something reliable and long lasting and decent quality.

MRA Varioscreen , have you got one and is it any good, had one on my Varadero, excellent, on my new crossrunner, complete waste of money, so a bit of info. could save me a few quid. All screen info gratefully received.
Cheers
