  Adjustable levers
Posted by: bryaneidins - 25-11-16, 04:15 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Hi Chaps,

Ive just bought my first Fazer off a fellow member but I've quickly realised I need adjustable Levers (essentially the clutch one) but don't want odd ones.

So before I order a No.16 from Chinese menu does anyone have a pair of titanium or silver 'Long' type levers gathering dust?

The bike is a 2001 Fazer 'S'.

Thanks for the Ad.

  Riding in Malaysia
Posted by: Simon.Pieman - 25-11-16, 10:27 AM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

Has anyone on here of the adventure biker ilk ridden a bike accross Malaysia?
I would be grateful of any info on good routes running North from KL on the West coast (it's a bit monsoony on the other coast at moment) and info on nice out of the way places to stay etc.
Also any reccomendation on s/h bike dealers in KL would be handy. Will be looking for a KLX150 or similar.
Many Thanks

  Headlight main beam intermittent
Posted by: Cwodavids - 23-11-16, 09:05 PM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (13)

When I am riding my 2010 Yamaha FZ6 Fazer the main beam randomly stops working. The light does not come on and the blue light in the rev counter doesnt light up. Just as randomly as it stops working, it comes back on!

I have tried the connections, wiggling the wires, turning full-lock to full-lock and riding over bumps but I cant make the fault occur.

Any ideas? I use the bike to commute for 40 miles along country roads so need main beam, especially in winter!

Thanks

Dave

Cheap Yuasa batteries for Fazer in Amazon black Friday sales

Quick heads up: they've got the Yuasa YTX12B-BS going for £30, perfect for FZS600. Not a bad price if you need a new bat for winter.

  Hi From West Yorkshire
Posted by: Wharfe - 22-11-16, 08:48 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (4)

Evening all, hi there from a Noob in West Yorkshire (Ilkley to be exact). I just bought me a foxeye Fazer, absolutely delighted as my first big bike back in 2001 was a Fazer, got rid LONG before I explored its full potential so really looking forward to playing with one again. If the f***ing rain eases off for long enough, all our roads are flooded right now....

  Mod Reversal?
Posted by: Fazafou - 22-11-16, 06:18 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (9)

Hi all,

Am interested to know if rather than looking to add mods, anyone has decided to remove them all and go back to stock setup?

Just for background, I've got a Fuel silencer (no exup - sounds great), removed flies, high flow filter, AIS blocked, power commander V and autotune, smaller front sprocket, but I don't feel I've gained anything in the rev range I normally ride in.

Don't get me wrong, the bike is a rocket at high revs and I've possibly fallen into the mod trap trying to get something out of an engine that it's not possible to get - i.e. nice low range torque.  After all, an engine's character can't really be changed without serious work, simply tuned for best performance, but essentially same 'character' if that makes sense.

All I seem to have done is reduced economy quite a lot (small front sprocket) and not really improved normal riding for the type I normally do.

I'm actually thinking the bike had better torque when I got it and I'm seriously considering removing everything and setting back to stock (auto-tune etc all going back on ebay I guess) even with original exhaust and exup etc.

Anyone else gone through this, and did you feel you'd done the right thing going back?
