Short Levers - MOT Advisory!
Posted by: Jules-C - 11-01-17, 02:13 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (16)

Another year another MOT.  Passed but with 4 advisory notes
1:  Front brake pads near minimum limit - new pads have been sitting in the garage but not fitted for the last year so no argument there
3/4: Rear shock misting/reduced damping a bit disappointed since the Hagon has only done about 15,000 miles but at least it's rebuildable.
but number 2: Brake lever is short but brake can still be readily applied.  Since it is working without problem why is it an advisory?  Not really bothered but seems odd to put it in as advisory

Someone was asking about cheap Go-Pro alternatives
Posted by: tommyardin - 10-01-17, 06:18 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Hi guys someone was asking about cheap/sensibly priced sports cams suitable for recording trips and ride outs.
I saw this little beast in Robert Dias this afternoon in Petersfield, (See Picture) I'm sure all stores can get them.
Don't know anything about them but from a store like Robert Dias you will certainly be able to take it back if it does not do what it claims, worth a look anyway if your thinking about one.
I noticed also that in Alton, Hants, that 'Aldi' also have one for £39.99 that they claim is 4K  :eek

I personally have no knowledge of either of these cameras, but fitness for purpose and merchantable quality laws must come into play, if you are unhappy with your purchase you can always take it back and get a refund if it fails to perform as stated.

Hello everyone, my name is Darren and I've just picked up a nice 03 Fazer today ready for my daily commute. After some deliberation on what to buy I settled with the Fazer for its bullet proof engine and reliability. I look forward to receiving the bike on Thursday and taking it for a spin at the weekend.

Apart from the front sprocket but (which I have get to check) is there anything I need to worry about?

Voice activated dictionary for PC wanted

My spelling isn't great but my mum and brother are dyslexic and struggle with most words, reading not an issue but day to day spelling is.

Anyone know of a download for windows that's voice activated.

Thanks

  Starting problem
Posted by: keno - 08-01-17, 07:53 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (46)

Last few months i have been having a on and off starting problem, sometimes turns over ok then all of a sudden i just get a click coming from the battery area,if i put in gear and slightly bump in gear it will start when i hit the button. Not sure if it is starter motor, battery or some electrical issue, anyone had this or similar.

Battery charges ok and sits at 12.6 on the optimate but its over 10 years old?
Clicking sounds like it is coming from fusebox area down by battery.
Oh and its a 98 fazer 600

  Tyre Pressure
Posted by: Grant1Shepherd - 08-01-17, 07:26 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (14)

Hi guys

Just had a full service on my FZS600 and she is running perfectly, however tyres were a little flat, the garage bumped them up but I forgot to ask what they should be (Front and back)

I've heard it depends on the rider though so I thought I'd ask you lot what psi I should have in front and rear tyres

I'm 6 foot 2 and weigh 72kg (11.3 stone) (158lbs) What tyre pressure should I be riding on the front and back?

Hope you guys can help, thanks in advance Smile

  Not starting crazy symptoms
Posted by: Ross - 08-01-17, 07:01 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (24)

Hello,

A few months back having grown tired of my old VFR, I swapped it for a 2004 FZR 1000 with rethnal bars. Loved it but like my wife after a bit its started to drive me mad.....only kidding dear!!.

When I go to start it (the bike not the wife) all is good, it makes all the correct clicks and fires into life on all 4 cylinders. It then just dies and won't start again. It turns over but it just refuses to fire up.

If I leave it for a few hours it will start again but then just dies as before. I've replaced the plugs and checked the carbs are getting fuel which they are. It's got 40,000 on the clock and an unknown history, however it looks in great condition so someone has looked after it at some point.

I would be greatful for any ideas on how to resolve the issue

Cheers

Ross
