  Heading to France?
Posted by: dickturpin - 01-02-17, 11:51 PM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

Not sure if it's been covered here but I understand from another forum that vehicles, including bikes, will shortly require an emissions sticker for entry to Paris Lyon and Grenoble! Not got all the details but RAC website assists.
Just a heads up for those traveling abroad ?

  Crash
Posted by: Grant1Shepherd - 01-02-17, 09:45 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (55)

Hi guys

last night I was out ridding and approaching a green light at about 30mph when out of nowhere 4 people ran out into the road hoping to cross, I had to swerve to avoid them but sadly lost control and came off. I've managed to escape with just a fractured wrist, however the bike is a bit beat up, both mirrors and right side indicator are loose, front fairing is cracked and scratched, exhaust completely fell off and bent, and lastly the right hand side engine shell cracked and allowed all the oil out.

As you can imagine I'm gutted and heartbroken, I love this bike with all I have, and all I want to know is if it is fixable, I know mirrors, indicators, fairings and exhaust all are but I'm so worried about any potential other damage caused by cracking the engine shell, at the moment I just can see there's no oil left in the engine.

Photos of broken bits are attached  Sad

Thanks guys

  Like button

I'm thinking either a FB style like button on comments would be cool to just show that you find something funny or agree with it without having to post a pointless comment?
Or another idea from other forums I use is a kudos button so if somebody helps you out or gives you some good info you can give them kudos as like a little thank you. Each member then has a number of kudos on their profile which then show newer/other members which ones of you are worth listening too and which of us to ignore haha

Just an idea, I'm not computer expert so not sure how feasible it is ??

Exhaust Manifold Copper Gasket Cross Section
Posted by: Andy Clap - 01-02-17, 07:22 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

So, the copper gasket rings I've been supplied are round in section, whereas the ones which have come out are flat.  Also the new ones are about 2mm smaller in diameter.

Anybody fitted the same, and does it matter?

Cheers.

  tonights visit into the garage
Posted by: darrenc - 31-01-17, 09:25 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

So tonight I had a few things on my list.

1. Check TPS reading (again)
2. Work out how the fuck I get the keys out of my top box when I turn it to the lock position.
3. See if my scottoiler was primed and ready to go for when the bracket arrives.

Well I'm happy to report the TPS now reading 5000 (not fucking sure why because last time I checked it was 10000)

As for the top box wellllllll there are 3 key positions, left turn (unlock), middle position (only position I can remove key) and right position (lock) so to lock it you have to turn it to lock position and as slightly pulling on key turn it back to middle otherwise it doesn't quite lock...... Anyway now I know how to lock and unlock it im happy no scroat will run off with my gear.

The scottoiler seems to work, I saw a random tube coming off it so I blew down the fucker and the pump started moving and a couple of drops of oil popped out the end of the tube so I'm guessing once bikes started it should all operate as it should Smile

Tonight was a success in what has been a friggin nightmare lately with that bike haha
