  Speedo started going mad.
Posted by: vinnyb - 07-04-17, 11:01 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

I went out for a ride today and on the way home the speedo needle started waving around randomly, only slightly to begin with but by the time I got back it was thrashing about all over the place. When I checked it, the cable had been rubbing on the disc and had worn through to expose a tiny patch of wire that was shorting out on the disc, so I've rerouted it and I'm going to have to sort it properly tomorrow. I'll wrap some insulating tape round it for the time being but has anyone got any ideas for a more permanent repair without replacing the cable?

Evening

Much to my chagrin, I only just discovered that the bloody rear hose has been rubbing on the rear wheel and needs replacing asap.

Does any one have a stock rear hose or a black covered braised hose.

many thanks

b.

  Brake caliper help needed please.
Posted by: oberonspacefruit - 07-04-17, 04:48 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

2002 fzs 600

I came to change my rear pads, after the brake had been getting progressively worse. Ive noticed that the pistons are pretty far out and have a lot of corrosion around the rim. Ive taken ther calliper off, split it, got it in the vice but it wont budge with anything i can get on it, short of welding somthing to it.
I gave up for the day, and decided to look for a used caliper.
theres only 1 that i can find on ebay, its £90 and its in spain.......

so, i may have to put new pistons in this, but as the pistons are corroded-theres traces of corroded rubber, presumably a seal where it come out too far, i'm worried that bthe bore may be knackered too.

Is there any other callipers that people have used on the rear, as these seem pretty scarce, and expensive for what they are......

if not, has anybody had any dealings with re doing the pistons? ive seen stainless ones on wemoto, but its going to be about £70 for those......

An expensive day, as i probably need to replace the disc as well.....

Thanks in advance for your help

  For Sale - 2pc leathers
Posted by: Bretty - 07-04-17, 04:03 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (4)

Hi all,

Please find for sale my hardly used Frank Thomas Leathers.

I only wore them once. I'm 6'2" and got them about 4years ago when I was 14stone. I got them with the intention of doing track days... but I've never got around to it. They were a little too tight for me then... and now I'm about 16stone!!!

Size.
UK 44
Euro 54

Would suit someone 5ft6 to 6ft1. As new, hardly worn, although the stitching has come loose a bit around the crouch - easy fix!

£70 ONO, located in NW London.
