Speedo bracket
Posted by: StuSid - 19-04-17, 09:04 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Hey guys I know theres been loads of posts about a custom speedo bracket for a 'naked' conversion and ive even seen some decent ones.

The best I seen was mounted where the bar risers were however I cant replicate it as I dont have the tools or metal to do this... I was curious if anyone actually makes these or something similar I could possibly buy or even an old one that worked great I would buy.

This will only be temporary to get me back running again until I fix the shitty projector conversion someone did and repair the slight damage to the fairings which I plan to do this winter while shes stored away.

Cheers everyone.

  Fazer Decals
Posted by: tommyardin - 18-04-17, 06:43 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

Hi guys,
I am looking for some advice, I dropped my bike (FZS600) a couple of years ago, it was stationary at the time, so, no great damage, but it did put a couple of cracks in the front fairing, one where the off side indicator is mounted and on at the rear end of the front fairing where the rear fixing screw is.

Now I am quite a dab hand at fibre glass repairs so I removed the fairing from the bike and thoroughly cleaned (Brake and Clutch Cleaner) the inside of the fairing where the damage was and scored it with a sharp chisel to form a key for the glass resin, I laminated the area giving a good 3 inches past each crack with 2 layers of course matting and one layer of fine glass mesh.
With the fairing infill panels in place the repairs are completely invisible. I have lived with it for two years but feel it's time for a makeover, the cracks are hardly noticeable when viewing the bike, unless you are doing a close inspection, but want to do a better job by scratching out the cracks and using some fine filler and respraying, here comes the issue how the FOC do I get the FAZER decals off the fairing without doing more damage that is already done.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
For those who read my post with regard to the passing of my much loved MR2 Mk 3, I have decided to replace it with a BMW Z4 2.5 straight 6  :eek , I tell you this as a warning as BMW drivers are not very popular in here, mainly because most of them need a white stick, that is those who look, but don't see, the others just need a swift blow to the side of the temple. :rollin :rollin :rollin
I am hoping not to fall into either category.

  Blue residue
Posted by: Dudeofrude - 18-04-17, 06:33 PM - Forum: General - Replies (17)

I've just noticed a load of blue residue around the oil cooler on the front of my Gen2. Any ideas what that would be? My first assumption is coolant because It's really bright blue and looks like it's been leaking out of every joint/seam on it?
I would upload picture but this bludy site won't let me anymore :-(

  Think Bike – Jimmy Hill

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/films..._jimmy.htm

A tragic, needless accident.
But why did it happen?
The driver checks the traffic on his right. The road seems to be clear, and he pulls out.
But if we look again from the driver’s angle, we can see his problem.
Visibility isn’t good, but if only he’d checked again, he would have seen the motorcyclist approaching.
That car driver will be more careful next time.
For the motorcyclist, there isn’t going to be a next time.
So motorists: be particularly careful at junctions.
Think once.
Think twice.
Think bike.

Be careful out there Gents

  General Election 8th June
Posted by: fazersharp - 18-04-17, 11:15 AM - Forum: General - Replies (232)

General Election on the 8th June looks like a second EU referendum by any other name.
Mrs May has had enough of the sniping from the remainders in labour and lib dems and the lords on brexit so she has called for a general election to ask for a mandate on the Governments current brexit path

FZS600 engine oil warning light randomly comes on
Posted by: feral kid - 17-04-17, 11:29 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (13)

For couple of weeks now the engine oil warning light occasionally comes on, it stays on for around 30-50 seconds and then it goes off. It's not the case that it's happening when sharp turning or going up\down hill. I spoke to my mechanic about it it and he is not sure what is causing it. He said that it may be a problem with a oil sensor (maybe it got some gunk stuck to it), but wasn't sure and he said he it would be quite a lot of work to check it\clean it, he would have to remove the whole exhaust system to do it and probably it wouldn't be cheap. Does anyone know what could be causing it and is it something serious? Is it safe to keep riding the bike if it keeps happening?
