Hey guys been away a while but the Fazer is back on the road, thanks to everyone for your help especially Bikemad for the bottom end.

But took it out for a test ride and my speedo is miss-behaving. It was just sat at 0 for a while but then started bouncing all over the place. Are we thinking speedo sensor or perhaps broken wire chance the bouncing around?

Plea for sponsorship - 150 mile Cycle Ride for Macmillan Cancer Support
Posted by: Millietant - 21-05-17, 12:27 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

Hi All. Over the weekend of 27th-29th May, my wife and I have organised (for the 10th consecutive time) an annual 150 mile Cycle Ride across the UK from "Coast to Coast", to raise money for a very deserving cause - Macmillan Cancer Support. Many here know this, but for those who don't, Macmillan provide free care and support, both at hospital and in-home, for cancer sufferers (and where necessary, their families) which is only made possible by people making donations and carrying out fundraising activities.Liz and I have both lost our father's to Cancer, in both cases their suffering lasted a period of years, rather than weeks - and we have a number of other family members and friends who have also suffered and who benefited tremendously from the support that the Macmillan Nurses provided. We have somehow managed once again to get another 25 riders to take up the challenge with us (most of whom have links to someone who has been supported by Macmillan) and we're looking forward to a great challenge, as well as great fun (over 13,000ft of ascent).I've attached a link below to our "Just Giving" donations page and while thanking those who donated last year , we hope that there are plenty of members here who will feel inclined to help us in the cause and make a donation (or "another donation", for those who have supported us in previous years) no matter how small, or large, everything will be greatly appreciated. So here's a "thank you" in advance and the link to our donations page.https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/D...n-C2C-2017

  tps sensor
Posted by: Ballbags - 20-05-17, 09:23 PM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

hi Ive got a post in the 400 section, which like the bike parts I don't seem to be having much luck with.
I've got a issue with my tps along with many other things on my bike.
Does anybody here know or can put me in contact with someone who can tell me if the 600 tps sensor will fit my 400.
Also if you've got a spare five mins and know a thing or two about fazers would you mind having a quick look at my post in the 400 section and maybe give some advice?
thanks in advance  Big Grin

so on my way back from the nw 200 i had a bit of a spill ,,felt like the back end slipped out from under me , slid across the road barely grazed the back of one car which spun the bike around enough for the handlebars and front fairing and forks to go into and under a 2012 3 series bmw, i came out of it with a swollen ankle which turned out to be a crack either side of my ankle so im layed up with a cast and on crutches for 4-6 weeks :'( ,,i was very lucky to have unfazed with me to carry me the 3+ hours back to cork, with my leg dangling painfully in the wind ,,the more ive thought about it ive come to the conclusion that i dipped it too low and the left crash bung dug in and sent me sliding ,"i always thought they came out a bit too far" ive often rubbed the right one on a roundabout ,,anyway insurance will be taking care of the third party damage as its a lot more costly than it looks :rolleyes oh well thats what its there for i suppose ,,so the bike is in the shed till i decide what to do about it ,,at a glance new forks.bars fairing/lights, infills and break disc,,
to try cheer myself up and give myself something to look forward to ive put a deposit on a05 fazer in the uk which will involve a road trip in a few weeks .

  help needed pls
Posted by: Ballbags - 20-05-17, 02:56 PM - Forum: Fazer 400 and other models - Replies (10)

Hi all I'm new to this forum and could do with some help
I recently bought a 400 fazer as a non running project.
I didn't realise that it wasn't 100% complete because the dodgy little toad that sold it was less than honest in his eBay description,he also said he had it started briefly with easy start.
so I get the bike delivered and in no time at all I realise that there is no spark (must of been that self sparking easy start that he used to get it running)
traced the fault to a broken wire cleaned carbs out and she starts with normal easy start.
I've now got a issue with the tps sensor I had a go at reseting it and couldn't get it to 5k revs so completely removed the screws holding it in place and turned it about 2 or 3 ml past the bolt holes and got 5k revs. I've widened the holes on the sensor as a quick fix to get the bike started,is this safe also would a new tps fix the issue? if so would one from a 600 do the job as 400 parts are as I'm finding out a pain in the arse to find.
When started the bike revs rediculsly high then settles down to around 3k is this related to the tps sensor ?
A couple more things, all fuel lines have been removed and I don't seem to have a fuel pump,if needed again could I use a 600 pump?
lastly is there a diagram of what fuel lines go where
Like I said I could really use your help as I'm new to motorcycle mechanics,so any help/advice will be hugely appreciated  :'(
