Odd noise from just below the tank?
Posted by: Tubz1983 - 03-06-17, 07:36 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

Not a whining sound... more a sort of washing machine cycle sound, more gutteral than high pitched? Started on the last part of the journey back from The Krazy Horse the other night so i has beeb wringing its neck. Bike starts and droves ok tbh, the sound is not present when sitting, just on the move, pulling the clutch in when rolling along the road does not stop it either. The bike was whining a little on the motorwats through the gears, but i noticed that stopped somewhat at least when this sound started? Also When stationary in the garage, engine running, if i hold the revs with the throttle ot seems like a larger chunk of the rev range is quite burbley now? Could be imagining it though.
Carb rebalance?
Cam Chain ?
Leak in the carb rubbers?
Any thoughts/advice would be great, apologies for the descriptions but without being here its difficult to capture the sound Smile

MCN has a review of the boxeye in this weeks copy, as a secondhand bike, and mentions FOC-U as a source of info [as well as the yamaha owners forum {of which i am also a member}]

worth a read, but nothing we didnt already know.

  Headstock adjustment
Posted by: Mustang - 02-06-17, 02:05 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (2)

I have the factory manual download and it's not clear to me how this is done. On my other bikes it was loosen lower fork clamp bolts then tighten up basically pulling the lower fork clamp up towards the top yoke.

Is it the same? Cos the manual isn't clear at all.

  bar ends
Posted by: Grant1Shepherd - 02-06-17, 01:07 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

Hi guys

Recently put some Renthal 758's on my fzs600 and brought some tiny Oxford bar ends to make sure they didn't stick out to much.

Worked for about a month but sadly yesterday one of them fell out whilst riding and I didn't notice it  :rolleyes

So now I need some new bar ends that will fit Renthal 758's, looking for some that have a better securing to the handlebars than the Oxford one's, was wondering if there was any handlebar guards that fit the Renthal 758's?

Hope you guys can help me out.

Cheers Smile

  Greetings from Chicago U.S.A

I dont know why I waited so long to apologize for this clown that somehow got elected president of the U.S.A. I have a blue 2005 FZ1 and 2014 FZ09 or the MT-09  as it's known in most markets. I've been riding 34 years, 12 months a year. Here in icy Chicago thats sort of rare. The Urban Ballet with millimeters to spare. Yeah, I enjoy traffic.

  Fzs1000 fender extender
Posted by: Newb21 - 01-06-17, 07:46 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

Hi guys.
I bought an FZS1000 fender extender thinking it would fit my 6 but its completely the wrong shape so either looking for a swap or to sell it on. Paid £20 for it,plus postage so willing let it go for £15 since I've peeled the adhesive strip covers off, but it comes with 3 small bolts to attach it.

  Front sprocket change
Posted by: zielik - 31-05-17, 06:35 PM - Forum: General - Replies (24)

HI All  Big Grin

Recently had some noise coming from the chain/ front sprocket on my Fazer FZS600 2002. Removed the cover and looks like that sprocket needs to be replaced as some of it cracked (see pic attached). I want to buy sprocket, retainer and retainer nut online  but from the pics online shops looks like that sprocket got a different look. I am using that shop:  http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/fzs_6..._sp/02-03/

They have different types of sprockets and I am not sure which one is correct. They have less or added teeth

Can anyone help? :'(

Thanks
Dawid
