Fzs600 (2000) front subframe for headlight/fairing
Posted by: Fatcatjimmy1 - 27-10-17, 12:07 AM - Forum: General - No Replies

I’ve cunningly bent mine in a mini-roundabout miscalculation. Does anyone have a straight one up for sale?

New Fazer owner here I have been around the block a few times and back, and have just bought a 2005 Fazer 1000 in silver

I have only been on it once when I rode it back to Lancashire from London on Sunday and it ran as sweet as a nut  Smile
Hope I don't pester you to much :rolleyes while I get used to the bike and its little niggles    cheers Eric

  Swingarm dimensions / swaps
Posted by: F4celess - 26-10-17, 07:23 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

Can anyone kindly confirm the exact width of the Swingarm at the pivot bolt - where it fits into the Frame? Im considering this for a swingarm conversion.

Will then look into the options. Would be easier to space one out than have to "reduce" the width....

  Petrol Cap woes
Posted by: celticdog - 25-10-17, 11:50 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (17)

Well mines is getting more and more difficult to open every time I use it. Turning the key that last bit to pull back the bolt gets tighter and tighter, it feels as if I'm eventually going to break the key. Lubing helps for a bit but I think it's time to get a new one. Are the after market petrol caps any good? And more to the point are they easy to fit?

  coolant hose part no?
Posted by: nickodemon - 25-10-17, 10:29 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

My fazer spat the dummy today as im getting a new bike tomorrow... Im not long back from a 1000 mile bike ride and took the bike to get it mot'd. I pulled up and noticed a puddle of ever increasing coolant hit the road.... Does anyone know the part no for this hose. It comes out the back of the cylinder block and attaches to a spigot going into waterpump.

Fair play to her - mini Scotland tour
Posted by: HarryHornby - 25-10-17, 10:27 AM - Forum: General - Replies (24)

My wife's best mate (the one I tried to hook you 'orrible lot up with a while back) passed her bike test the other week.  At present she's still got her 125 Varadero but is going "big bike" shopping soon - and yes, I've mentioned a Fazer to her....... LOTS

Anyway, I digress, work has been tough recently so she's taken some leave and has ridden to Skye from South London on her 125  :eek

First day she rode to Glasgow and stayed over.
Second day she rode to Skye via Loch Lomand and For William, she's now spending some time bimbling about in very mixed weather.  Says she's loving it.

Blooming fair play to her, all that way, on her own, on a 125!  I'm not envious at all, honest!

  Potential FZS600 Box Eyr

Looking to see if intrest in my fzs600 boxeye in blue

Reasonable condition, standard all around aside from End Can, HyperPro Springs, and Braided Lines

reason for sale just not used any more, was a good first bike for me a few years back but no more

20K ish miles, MOT due this week so should hopefully pass with clean bill of health

NB - You can see the inner Clamp is reversed, this is where i had to get a engine shop to drill into a blank as i tried to remove the old stud and could not

Small dent in tank, literally from where i think bars have hit it at some point, not sure, and light scuff on fairing....

Had issue with snapped exhaust stud, ended up with Cylinder head off and repaired at engine shop by drilling into a blank opposite, no issues since and no corrosion on the studs as all replaced, well looked after

Treated with hammerite as needed.....etc

Did have R6 shock on but removed - might sell but may also re-use

Rear tyre loads left literally done a few hundred miles....nice end can etc

Calipers re-built by powerhouse, all smooth, front and rear, new seals etc the lot no rust on pistions

Rear end stripped and re-greased i.e. swingarm pivot back....

No issues with leaking for seals, no funny noises from timing chains etc, runs real nice, starts on the button

New battery also purchased for it when i got it so not original old one but 3 years old...

Been garaged, has been ridden in all weather no reason not too.

As said, good condition, not a minter, but ideal first bike, i just do not use, MOT check will show that i.e. low milage etc, 1500 miles between 2015 MOT and one i tried to get recently but failed due to brakes and electrical issue on headstock harness, brakes serviced and new headstock wiring loom fitted so expext MOT pass

Wont sell without one, so still may not sell if not happy etc....

Location North East - Durham

Cheers
