  Hello people
Posted by: Grovenik - 01-06-18, 11:25 AM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (2)

hi everyone, just thought I’d come and say hello.
I brought a 04reg fz6 in April after a brake from bikes due to buying a house. Had various bikes over the years last one being a sv650s.
Really enjoying the fz6. Ended up having a wrist operation earlier this month but can’t wait to get out on the bike again.

  Cheap FZ1S for sale
Posted by: Jazoli - 31-05-18, 09:31 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

2008
12 months MOT
60k miles
Good condition, few scratches on tailpiece and general wear and tear
new PR4's
Aftermarket can, heated grips, 12V accessory socket, scottoiler, crash bungs.
recently serviced with oil, filters, brake fluid, good service history as it was previously a police unmarked bike.
ABS isn't working
Its a fast, comfy bike, I ride with some very quick lads on the latest tackle and have no issues keeping up, its well sorted and rides and handles great, its been decatted and the exup has been removed as its inside the standard can (which is included with the exup and cables if you wanted to return it to standard)
Tank ring, optimate lead and mobile phone holder are not included
Price is £2k, no offers, I'm selling as I'm buying my first brand new bike, bike is in Kendal, Cumbria.

Where is the best place to buy a Yamaha clutch kit plus cable?
Or is an EBC one any good?

Cheers

  Hilltop motorcycles

Just wondering if anyone has used them before?

I'm looking to get my ecu flashed so I can get rid of this pc3 and also to smooth out the throttle etc etc
I've been looking around the web (and I've asked here in the past) and they are the name that keeps popping up. It's a 3 hour ride from me and gonna cost £360 so I just want to make sure they are the best people for the job haha

And if not are there any other recommendations?

  Non starter

Hi, A couple of weeks ago I took the bike out the garage as usual and she would not start.  Eventually she roared into life just as the juice was about out.  Since then no probs until this morning came out and turned her over until the battery was deid.  So turned the car round gave a her a jump and she started like a dream.  I stuck a yuasa battery in maybe 3.5 years ago and would not expect this to fail after such a short period.  Although the fact that she started with a  jump makes me think that the problem is not fuel related.  I have done nothing to the fuel system in 4/5 years.  I used to check alternators in cars by seeing whether the headlights were getting brighter when revving.  Might do that tonight.  I don't want to stick a new battery in then knacker it.

Any ideas?

  Touring - Loire Valley, France?
Posted by: Bretty - 31-05-18, 11:30 AM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

Hi All,

I'm planning a tour of the Loire Valley over a weekend with my other half. Has anyone done it before? I'm after recommendations for places to stay and things I must see.

I was planning to Ferry over to Caen, head down and pick up my missus at one of the airports (Tours, Angers or Nantes). Tour about for the weekend, then drop her at one of the other airports before cruising home.

I've never done the Loire Valley, but have previously enjoyed touring other rivers and valleys around Europe like the Mosel and Rheine.

Thanks,

Brett

AIS removal and two water pipes
Posted by: bludclot - 30-05-18, 06:48 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (7)

My Gen 1 is a little bit apart and the valve clearances have come in well within tolerance so I'm pleased. Two questions while it's open:

1 - is there any wisdom in removing the two water pipes that protrude from the valve cover? If they come out easily I'll renew them, if they are nothing but grief they can stay, it's purely a cosmetic thing for me. (Bike is absolutely mint, I am borderline obsessive regarding my vehicles.)

2 - can anyone point me towards an AIS deletion kit?

Any help appreciated thanks.

So some fuck tried steeling my lever covers...
Posted by: b1k3rdude - 30-05-18, 06:16 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

So got back to the bike and found the one on my clutch lever almost all the way off and damaged, for what? a £5 fucking lever grip. Its most likely one of those little moped pricks, that has no respect adn deserves nothing more that to be kicked of his sorry excuse for a bike. I was so annoyed I did my usual 60min commute home in 45...

My only wish is that there is a camera pointed at that location...
