Can you believe this fuckin' maniac !! :eek pulls a rider's front brake on at high speed and gets away with a 2 race ban. Like Cal Crutchlow said he should have been banned for life, this ain't the 1st time he's done this,he's an idiot, a dangerous idiot. There's the red mist and there's craziness. :thumbdown

  me again
Posted by: sicknote - 09-09-18, 03:43 PM - Forum: Introduction - No Replies

back to owning a fzs600 after selling my boxeye about 7 years back,  went to sv650s which was somehow a lesser bike than the fazer, then a xv535 , was not up to my riding style, a zx6r, quick but too sportbike focused then an xmax 250, comfy and practical but too slow
Picked up a 2003 foxeye with some useful mods 30,000 very good for its years in my opinion, really enjoying. rides like a missile after the xmax

  Crazy ref

I couldn't believe Tai Woffinden's disqualification this weekend 'til I realised that the ref was Polish and Tai's closest rival is also, what goes round comes round,it'll take more than dirty tricks to stop him taking another well deserved world title. :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup

  Ahh Coolant leak!
Posted by: Arfa - 08-09-18, 02:53 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

I appear to have small leak along seal on thermostat (bit below main coolant filler cap under tank).

Pretty certain it's the o-seal on this thermostat. Doesn't appears to originate from the hose or cap. (Cap was new a couple of years ago, as old wasn't holding pressure). On pressure testing the system, I get a a few small drips forming at the base of thermostat only. Anyone done this job of replacing and dismantling the thermostat? Any tips, tricks or advice?

Bit worried the attached hoses aren't going to like this job, as they're looking pretty old and flakey. And still we haven't sorted out any silicone hose group buys...  :eek
Anyone had any joy buying random silicone sections and bends to replace some of the hoses on the FZS600? For example:
http://www.jsperformance.co.uk/silicone-...cone-hoses
Do we have any knowledge on what bends might cover what bits of the system?

Non working right hand indicators and intermittent headlight
Posted by: Arfa - 06-09-18, 08:24 PM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (2)

Just been looking at a naked 2008 FZ6 S2 up for sale near me. Got a couple of issues, one of which is electrics: right hand indicators don't work - front and back, including light on clocks, and when hazard switch is on. Left hand indicators are fine though. Headlight is apparently intermittently not working too. Sidelights fine, and dipped/main beam were fine when I checked bike out.

I'm figuring that since right indicators aren't working with either hazard lights switch on main turning switch, it's not likely to be the switchgear itself and def not bulbs. Since it affects front/back and on clocks, leads me to suspect something more in depth - loom, clocks, etc. No obvious wear on exposed loom though.

Any thoughts on what is likely to be culprit here? Any common electrical faults known on FZ6's?
What do you think? I'm currently getting cold feet and will probably walk away from it unless I can pin it to a common/simply cause.

Steel Horse Cafe Bike Night this Friday
Posted by: Dynspud - 06-09-18, 09:08 AM - Forum: Events, Meets, Ride outs etc - Replies (15)

Hi Folks
Just a reminder that this Friday 7th September is bike night at Steel Horse Cafe near Abergavenny (NP7 9AY for sat navs).
Always a great turnout.
The cafe is open all day from 9am and closes at 9pm on monthly bike nights but late afternoon / evening is when the majority of bikes turn up.

Would be great to see some fellow Foccers there  Smile
