have decided to sell my Fazer , so I'm removing all the various bits and pieces I have added along the way.
For sale here is a modified R6 shock with dog-bones. Bought from Luke less than 6 months ago ( look at the dog-bones...still shiny new ).
The spring paint is a bit marked and scratched ( as came from Luke ) but he said just poor storage, shock was virtually unused. Its done less than 2,000 miles since.
Also included is the R6 lower mounting bolt. I bought this because the R6 bottom mounting fork is a different width to the Fazer unit and this bolt gives better support for the R6 shock.
Price from Luke was £275 all in, inc postage. I'm offering this for £195 inc Uk mainland postage. Be quick, grab a bargain. Payment to be by BACS please
PM me for pictures please, I cant load them onto this forum. If u want to collect to save postage, I'm near Preston Lancashire.
cheers
Loz

Hi all, I was cleaning behind the headers earlier (Gen 1) and spotted what looks like oil that has been misting out from between where the 2 crankcase halves are joined horizontally with the grey sealer. Was hoping it might be coolant but it definitely seems like oil. Anyone else had something similar? Looks like it could be a pig of a job to fix.

Just done another oil and filter change, I had a 4 litre bottle of oil but only managed to put about 2.7 litres in the first time round. Started her up for a few mins then let it settle and the oil was barely at the glass when level. So topped up with a bit more to make it half wayn took her out for a spin for 20 mins then came back and put her away.
This morning I've just been to check the level and its now pretty much touching the top of the glass when cold, I know it's a little fuller than normal but is that enough to be a problem or shall I drain a few ml?

Having retired I am somewhat sadly selling my faithful thou which has been a daily ride in anticipation of a new bike to enjoy as a pleasure bike. Not quite sure what it's worth so gone the ebay route.
Despite the mileage it's been a great bike, is well specified and must still be a good bike for someone who knows how to continue to look after it.
Would be great to see it continue giving enjoyment to someone in this community.

| Centre stand or not? |

One of the last jobs I want to sort out on my recently bought Fazer 600 is the lack of centre stand, but before doing a search I found the mounting lugs have been chopped off. The repair will need some bracketry welding on from an uncomfortable position or possibly the bike part stripped/drained then dropped on it's side.
Question is, is it worth it? I've managed over the years with only sidestands, jacks or paddock stands in the shed. Or in your experience is there some peculiarities about these bikes where I'll wish or find I need one.

Just read a quote by Leon "had every chance in the racing world" Haslam, saying "I've beaten Johny Rea as many times as he's beaten me" who does he think he's kidding? he will find out like Tom Sykes did what a brilliant rider Rea is and Tom is twice the rider Haslam is,he's been living off the back of his old man's great career for years getting the best rides and making every excuse for his failure. There are some excellent young riders out there who would give anything to have a fraction of the chances he's had, after all this time he's still only won a scooter championship. He'll probably win this years BSB title with Shakey out ,wouldn't bet on it though.
