Gen 2 Ignition Lock |

Hi. I parked my 2009 Gen 2 bike in town recently and wonder if someone tried to steal it. I now notice that if I insert just the point of the ignition key into the lock, I can rotate the dust cover part freely and independently of the lock barrel. If I rotate the dust cover so that the key is aligned with the slot in the lock barrel, I can push the key fully into the lock and it works as normal.
My question - are all the locks like this where the dust cover freely rotates or has mine been forced in some way?
Thanks

Hi,
Noticed last night arriving back home, a smell of burning coolant....
Checked this morning and the bottom seal between the rubber and metal pipes feeding into the bottom of the engine block (oil cooler?) looks like it's gone.
Is this something a novice mechanic could handle? Looks like you'd have to get the pipes off (?) and my 03 Fazer 1000 header bolts look like they're rusted solid. I presume the part would be cheap-ish, but the rest of the work looks frightening. Trouble is I can't drive it anywhere, I'd lose all the coolant in 10 minutes. Is this a squealer job?
Thanks,
Chris.

Niken or not? |

Would you buy a Yamaha Niken?
For me it is a big no, £13500 for a 263 kilo MT09 with an extra wheel, I don't care how much confidence you get in pushing the front end, its not a motorcycle, its a tricycle.

Front Sprocket Nut |

Its that time for new chain and sprockets, still have the originals so that includes the 9mm nut, kept an eye on it due to known problems but all was well.
Sooo ordered a new nut and locking washer from my dealer and a new 9mm nut turns up. Apparently its all up to date, but why a 9mm nut and not the 12mm nut if there are known problems.
Shall I get a 12mm nut from wemoto?
Cheers
Nick
