squeal from the front
Posted by: tex1507 - 18-10-11, 12:28 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

Hi All,

I change my front wheel bearings again as i started to get a squeal from the front of my fazer, took the bike out and everything seamed ok, this was sunday, have gone down to Luton from Birminghham and the squealhttp://yamahaclub.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/madflame.gif[/img] returned on the M1, i am pretty sure it is not the bearings this time as i am not getting any judder through the brake lever & handle bars when i slow down which was happening before, how ever when i got to Luton i had a look at the rad and when sitting on the bike on the left hand side bottom pipe there is white corrosion which to me would indicate water leak (although not wet when i looked)......................is this a correct assumption?

If there is a air lock in the rad not sure how it got there without 1-the bike going on it's side or 2- not being carfull when changing the coolant again neither of these have been done recently, the coolant is coming up for a change and the last time i dropped the bike was 2 years ago in the snow when my foot slipped.

pretty sure it is not warped discs as when i checked these they were running true

ok final question if it is the speedo sender on it's way out how would i know as the actual speedo needle is smooth when going along?

Cheers

Stu

  Insurance Renewal
Posted by: Tefer - 17-10-11, 01:51 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Well first renewal since changing the bike to a Fazer 600, my Insurance company Swinton Bikes are looking for £339 FC for the Fazer. My insurance on the ER last year was only £100. :groan

Shopped around using Tiger.co.uk, MCN Compare and managed to get a quote of £142 so Swinton will be getting told they even showed up at £146 and the renewal girl was like, we can match that!! I said na you had your chance to deal with it and you never came close.

Unfortunately the new bike has a bellypan fitted and an end can, if i declare this then the insurance is nearer £360 again FC, i could go down to TPFTand that would be £167. All i would really want is a price of what i paid for the bike i would not try to claim all the modifications as i never paid for them.

Thoughts

The seam is bursting on the front of my '04 gen 1 and while black gaffer tape works, it really lets the look of the bike down.  I found this crowd on ebay. Has anybody heard of them, or used them? http://www.topsellerie.com/@EN-FR/YAMAHA...8_210.html

Can anyone suggest anywhere (other than ebay) I can try to get a new key/ignition barrel and a set of rear footpegs relatively cheap?

I brought the bike with no rear footpegs cheering that it meant I couldn't take pillions anymore and in the two weeks I've owned it needed to take a pillion more times than a have in the last two years -.-
Suppose I was asking for that one though.

Cheers :]

Well as most of us know I picked up my new wheels the other day.

Or rather, they were picked up for me.

So this thread is in tribute to the dahlings who have helped me and others loads over the years.

A big thanks to Unkle FazBaz who once again got me out of a fix by running me all about the place and making sure all was well. Its no the first time Baz has done this sort of stuff for me and i'm sure theres lots of others he's sorted in the past.

Lots of luv to Unkle Baz and all like him who go above and beyond the call of duty within the Foccer network.

Love y'all
