Well for those that don't know, I some how had a slight off a few weeks ago but the damage done to the fazer was well above the cost of the bike  :'( having claimed in 2008 after some twat tried nicking old blue, and with this claim i have had to get a bike that was cheaper on insurance so I have got a Suzuki Bandit600S fully faired .......... :lol (waiting for you all to stop laughing) :lol ...........Finished.......ok then will have a power commander put on and a few more things done to get it a bit more vavavoom out of it and will be still doing the meets and what not.
this does mean how ever there are a few bits for sale of which I will put on the for sale section but does include my wingrack with indicators, rear LED clear light, touring screen with side pods, scotoiler (touring tank) and tinted screen, there will be pics as well so keep a look out should av them on tonight. cheers foccers

and Russ stop fooking laughing ya short ass Scot. :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin

Bike rolled of side stand, Dohhhh
Posted by: mobile mouse - 28-10-11, 01:03 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Hi All,

That one in a lifetime event has happened to me. After 8 years of getting on/off the bike, yesterday I didn't put the side stand down fully and the bike rolled of the side stand while I got off.

No damage to me except my pride and probably my wallet.

The bike is a red fox eye, Fazer FZS600 MY2003.

Damage is scuff to front indicator, bar end clutch lever and left rear view mirror the left rear fender cover (5DM-2163A-10-P5) has a nice road rash, courtesy of old tarmac. But the bummer is the rear left indicator.

This has punched through and broken off whether it was when it landed or while I got the bike upright again.

This looks to be a big part covering the whole under tray under the seat and the number plate holder.

It's listed as either part no: 4YR-21611-01-00  or 4YR-21611-21-00 not sure which related to the fox eye Fazer.

Not really seen any of these parts posted on Ebay. This part looks to be only available when a bike is being stripped for parts.

If anyone knows how much they go for I would like to know, please.

I am considering using various glue to put it back together but would like to know what type of plastic this part is, does anyone know.

It's all being held together with a load of gaffa tape and it's holding together well but long term I wish to repair it or replace the part.

I understand the replacement route looks to be a complete strip down of the rear of the bike.

Thanks for reading any info would help.

Cheers,

What did you do to your bike today?
Posted by: GringoRojo - 28-10-11, 12:51 AM - Forum: General - Replies (156)

(idea stolen from another forum)

apart from riding it to/from work, today I fiddled with the screen height, tweeked the fog light angles, and booked a 6000mile service. what did you do to yours?

(ok, this wasn't today, its not a fazer, but does show the lights and screen. you get the idea)

Any other SAFFAS on this site?
Posted by: fazerlover - 27-10-11, 06:32 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (2)

Hi guys.

I bought a 2002 Fazer 1000 a couple of months ago, must say what a fantastic bike! First ride was from Cape Town to Margate, 1630km. That's 1000 miles, roughly! lol. Are there any other South Africans on this site? Just wondering, as I have gotten some great ideas and info from the rest of the members, but would be nice to meet some of the local SA lads if there are any!

By the way, are accessories like belly pans, and huggers also expensive compared to the price of the bike in the uk? I payed R35k for my bike, 19500km on the clock and looking good for nearly 10 years old. Price for belly pan in SA, R3k! Hugger, R2K. Bloody awful I think.

  Dremel multi tool
Posted by: phil on a fazer - 27-10-11, 05:50 PM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

Hi

I want  to get a Dremel multi tool but cant decide which one.....either the 300 (about £40) or the 4000 (about £70). The 4000 is basically more powerful but what i would like to know is.......is it bigger? heavier?....much more awkward to use?

Normally i go by the motto of more power is better, but I'm not too flush with cash at the mo so i don't want to be spending extra beans when i don't need to.

what do ya reckon?

Phil

Just had new tyres fitted to my bike...according to the fitter I need new chain and sproket because when he adjusted the chain there are tight spots...I've done 25000mls...he quoted me £130 supply and fit Gold "o" ring type chain...is it a reasonable price or should I try Yamaha and get the original ones. Pls help as I only know how to ride and nothing else!
