I'm pretty sure the answer is yes but will the 2002 engine fit into the 1998 chassis and the generator and starter motor fit etc?

Getting an annoying "clicking noise" from somewhere mostly heard when riding slow in 1st its like a revelution click if you know what i mean, same sort of noise when you get a stone hung up in the tyre tread. And before its said NO there isnt a stone in the tread.
Thought it was a tight link in the chain had the chain & sprockets changed still bloody there.Only thing i can think of is the front pads sticking in the calipers ive lifted the front end off the deck , spun the front wheel and its as if the pads are binding & moving in the calipers. Is the wheel suppose to spin freely(come to rest under its own momentum??) or does it normally bind
Changed the pads & seals last year for your info
Horrible paranoid thoughts going through my head of a chipped 1st gear tooth something like that. Please put my paranoier to bed and give me your thoughts cheers

A man is stranded on a desert island, all alone for ten years.
One day, he spots a speck on the horizon.
He thinks to himself, "It's not a ship".
The speck gets a little closer and he thinks, "It's not a boat".
The speck gets even closer and he thinks, "It's not a raft".
Then, out of the surf emerges a gorgeous blonde woman, wearing a wetsuit and scuba gear.
She comes up to the guy and she says, "How long has it been since you've had a cigarette?"
"Ten years!" he says.
She reaches over, unzips a waterproof pocket on her left sleeve and pulls out a pack of fresh cigarettes.
He takes one, lights it, takes a long drag and says, "Man, oh man! That is good!"
Then she asks, "How long has it been since you've had a drink of whiskey?"
He replies, "Ten years!"
She reaches over, unzips her waterproof pocket on the right, pulls out a flask and gives it to him.
He takes a long swig and says, "Wow, that's fantastic!"
Then she starts unzipping this long zip that runs down the front of her wetsuit and she says to him, "And how long has it been since you've had some REAL fun?"
And the man replies, "My God! Don't tell me you've got a motorcycle in there!"

Thinking aloud about Foccin' Christmas |

Hark, the herald Aegis sings, glory to the new poured drink...
As Madders has finally been kidnapped by the beasts of the Forest and as such the Christmas Frolic is a dim, if pleasant, memory, was thinking it might be nice to try and sort out a Foccers Festive Fling.
Hadn't got much further than suggesting we pick somewhere in the middle of us all, pick a Premier Inn, book rooms for a Friday/Saturday night and then take it from there.
My thinking would be the 9th/10th of December, mibbes somewhere like Scumchester or Leeds, mayhap even ScouseLand (if we can sort out shots before then).
Turn up, have a few beers, find somewhere that can handle us all spaffing shite and facilitate us munching turkey, few more ales, some more munching, perhaps a spot of dubious dancing, some more ales then a painful and hungover journey home for us all the next day.
Or the day after...
Any interest?

Brand new in the box R&G tail tidy for an FZ1 also 1yr old Remus Powercone |

The one I have on the bike had a faulty LED so a brand new one still in the box has been sent and in the meantime I have decided to trade the bike in so the OEM eyesore is going back on it. Was going to stick it on Fleabay but thought I would stick it on here first.
Remus powercone in graphite with stainless cap also for sale 1 year old good nick although the surclip holding the baffle in is cracked, doesnt cause any problem unless you want to take the baffle out as you would have to buy a new clip to secure it back in place, the clip is about 4 quid from Remus. I have to say that this exhaust makes the FZ1 sound awesome, pops and bangs its head off!
Can send pics if required
Offers please. Cheers
Peace

Battery woes |

My OEM battery for my Gen 1 lasted 5 years. Since then, I've had some (relatively) cheap MF batteries (c. £50) that last for 10 months on average. My most recent one now dies completely unless I've got it on Optimate overnight - particularly if it gets below 10 degrees or so.
Is this issue because:
- after-market cheap batteries give you what you pay for
- my Thatcham System 3 is the knackering batteries?
Is it difficult / expensive to get rid of the alarm system if this is a major drain. And otherwise, should I stop being stingey and just buy an OEM battery. (I did get an OEM one as a first replacement but that one only managed 3 months!)
I'm riding the bike every day for a 15 minute commute - but not using headlights (yes I know!)....
Any comments gratefully received.
