  Scottoiler HCR . . fitting?
Posted by: Slug - 06-11-11, 01:29 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

I recently purchased a Scottoiler and HCR from the tinterweb but it came with no instructions or fittings and I can't figure out where to start.  Does anyone have one of these or know where I can find a guide / manual for installation please? All guides and manuals I have found only cover the standard resorvoir and, as much as I would like to use the little res I don't have the dock for it Sad help!

  M5 CRASH
Posted by: DILLIGAFF - 06-11-11, 12:24 PM - Forum: General - Replies (11)

Condolences to the families of those who dies or were injured but, I see there is to be an inquiry into the causes.
No doubt this will keep plenty of pen pushers gainfully employed for at least a year at HUGE expense to the taxpayer.

Well I can save them all the time and expense.
The likely announcement of the causes will be...........

1.  Driving inappropriately for the prevailing road conditions.
2.  Driving too close to the vehicles in front
3.  Looking at the fireworks and not the road ahead
4.  Over reaction to sudden, but foreseeable, smoke from bonfires reducing visibility.
5.  Generally poor driving ability, possibly compounded by the lack of training before the driving test.

I also wonder if it will be discovered that any of the drivers were unlicensed or uninsured?

I also accept that it was a tragedy and that some of those involved may have been unavoidably caught up in the mayhem.

  Shell filling stations hassle
Posted by: bwizz - 05-11-11, 05:23 PM - Forum: General - Replies (17)

I had a new variation of the usual , remove helmet , put bike on stand hassle, yesterday. when i was asked to move to another pump as they could not see me properly. I voted with my wheels and went somewhere else for fuel , I have also mailed shell to tell them of my veiws on their hassle biker policy. I expect that they can live without my weekly £50 or so, spent on fuel

A few questions from a newbie 1000 owner
Posted by: Karl - 05-11-11, 05:19 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (9)

Hello Folks
I'm new to the FOC...and the new owner of a 2005 FZS 1000. So far really enjoying the bike after having ridden an FZ6 for 4yrs. I'm getting used to a few aspects of the bike though...and at the risk of sounding like an idiot I was hoping I might get some advice! So here goes:

1. Electrical problem
When the bike is ticking over, if I flash the main beam the petrol warning light comes on, the oil light comes on and it resets both the trips. The easy solution is of course dont flash the beam  Wink but I wondered if this implied that the battery needs replacing or if there is something else amiss?

2. Revs when setting off
Pulling away from the traffic lights, the bike seems to need an awful lots of revs to get going - its almost like nothing happens when the clutch bites, but a few seconds later its fine and all is well as you move up through the gears. To be honest, its bloody annoying - we all need to get away from the lights if we've filtered through and this is a bit difficult. Is this what the Ivans kit is for? Or does it need some time on the dyno? Or something else? Thoughts appreciated folks.

Cheers
Karl

It's here on ebay...bidding is currently £1,000 but thought some people here on the list might be interested. It has in the past had a running issue - possibly ECU related - that wasnt diagnosed - but members might have insight into the problem. Its recently had new rear tyre, oil, oli/air filters, front/rear pads.

Its ending tomorrow (Sunday 6th) at 8pm

It's not the best machine in the world as the price indicates but I'm sure there's a home for it somewhere. I've upgraded to a Fazer 1000 by the way...!
Cheers

It's for a FZS600. Found out yesterday I've got one missing when I used a cargo net and would prefer not to use the fairing in future. Need the bolt as well please.

  A weekend funny...
Posted by: Grahamm - 05-11-11, 02:48 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

A man was walking along one morning when he noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery. A black hearse was followed by a second black hearse about 50 Feet behind the first one. Behind the second hearse was a solitary man walking a dog on a leash. Behind him, a short distance back, were about 200 men walking single file.

The man couldn't stand the curiosity. He respectfully approached the man walking the dog and said:

"I am so sorry for your loss, and this may be a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen a funeral like this. Whose funeral is it?"

"My wife's."

''What happened to her?"

"She yelled at me and my dog attacked and killed her."

He inquired further, "But who is in the second hearse?"

The man answered, "My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my wife when the dog turned on her."

A very poignant and touching moment of brotherhood and silence passed between the two men.

"Can I borrow the dog?"

The man replied, "Get in line."
